    Summer!

Well, today was my last day of school! I was wondering what my fellow students will be doing this summer and talk about the highs and lows of this school year.

As for myself,I plan on getting a job at the movie theater and concentrating on my campaigns and art.

I'm almost done.  I have some small papers due for my two classes, then I'm taking the summer off to work and practice drawing.

It would be a fun trip except we have a common ancestry... My dad is turning this into some sort of religious pilgrimage to the land of our forefathers, when he gets on his Holy Missions he gets a little crazy. That and Im not exactly legal over there. I just hope for some nice, soft, peaceful countryside.

    Re: Summer!

Well the completion of this past semester was my final semester of college.  And Im frickin depressed about it.  Ive been in a funk the last 2 weeks really.  Lots of things have gone through my mind about the future, the past, people Ive known, people Ill meet, and people Ill never see again.   I dont know.  I think Im losing it.

But I have to play the patience card with finding a job.  Jobs in GIS and/or environmental groups are not easy to come by.  Im afraid I may have to get a stop gap job at a bank which is fine as long as I dont enter retail.   Otherwise this summer is going to be a make-do with what Ive got/mish-mash season.  If jobs dont present themselves and I have a little time off before I have to grab a job at the bank, I plan to do lots of outdoor walking (which Ive already done in 15 miles worth  in a week) and hopefully spend time with a girl I became friends with in college, but thats entirely up to her.

This past year in college was quite spectacular most times.  I mean I got to become very good friends with several terrific people that Ill miss very much.  The classes I had were lots of fun.  I learned a lot about some cultures in Cultural Anthropology.  I had lots of fun in Environmental Law and Policy.  Globalization was somewhat similar to other classes I had and Intro to GIS was a very hard class that I learned SO much in, I cant begin to tell you.  Naturally the semester had a few low points, but you just have to roll with the punches sometimes

    Re: Summer!

I got slightly more than 2 weeks more of school

in the summer I intend to chill out, travel if possible, go sailing and I too intend to practise my drawing skills whenever I feel like it, as I will now also have time to do so ^^

I SHOULD get a job, but I don't know if I will... I happen to be pretty lazy and part of me don't want to get a job yet... in fact, the only part that wants to is the one craving for more money

    I know what you mean,Tybaltus.

I'm the youngest person in my group of friends and I know I'm going to miss them when they graduate.I've already had a few graduate, like my best friend from freshmen year. She moved and we lost touch.

I've still got one more year with them though and I intend on keeping in contact with them afterwards. After all,us gaming geeks got to stick together.

As for classes,I enjoyed European History and English II the most.Geometry is the spawn of Satan though and I'm amazed I managed to pass that class.

    Re: Summer!

I've got a week left to go. Although its annoying that I've got to go to school tomorrow. English exam wich I will most likely complete in about 30 minutes as they've been peace of cake for a long time.
I will graduate in about 3 years from now and thens the army and after it the universities.
My worst classes are Swedish and Maths wich are pain.

    Re: Summer!

Ah thats rough Adarra.  My prom date was in a similar position.  All of her friends were in my senior class in high school.  However she was a sophomore, so for 2 years she had to find a new core of friends.  Glad to hear youve actually got a gaming core down there though.  Werent many people into DnD around here (though I may aswell be included in that group, as Ive never played DnD, just games that used the rules).

I didnt mind Geometry or many math classes to be honest.  The only class I took in geometry (freshman year high school) I was a pretty solid B- student across the boards in that class.  Somehow I managed to get the highest grade on the midterm which pushed my final grade up to a B for the coarse.

The worst classes Ive ever had in my 16 years of school....Well I cant really remember much specifically from Middle School and Elementary school, so I guess of the last 8 years, the worst classes Ive had were:

Trigonometry (Junior year high school) -- Excrutiatingly hard.  I got a D for 1 quarter which is the worst Ive ever done (aside from 7th grade science).  But fortunetly 1 quarter of the semester we did statistics, which Im an A+ student for, so it saved my overall grade there.  Funny this is a pre-calculus course, and Im actually FAR better at calculus than this stuff.

Introduction to Philosophy (2nd semester Freshman year in college) -- Oh lord!  This had to be the most boring class in the history of mankind.   It was a chore to go to this class beyond belief.  By the 2nd half of the semester I gave up and skipped 2 out of every 3 classes.  I still managed a B+ for the class.

Microeconomics (1st semester Sophomore year in college) -- Was terribly boring and after I understood the whole supply and demand thing, everything else was too difficult and went over my head.  How I escaped with a B for the course is beyond me

    Re: Summer!

I found trigonometry easy, the little I did so far

I never had any problems with math, that is, up until I began in highschool previous autumn... my teacher sucks... he's incredibly good at maths, but he's a hopeless teacher... he also uses allmost all of the lessons going through the new stuff, but he is really slow... I mean, the guy could pretty much begin a word, then take a 1 minute pause before he finishes it...
and we're not allowed to discuss maths meanwhile, not even whispering, and sometimes are we not even allowed to do the assignments while he is talking... suffice to say, I sort of hate him and I will try to get into a new group if possible
he is also very strict with grades... everyone in my group have had their grades dropped during these 2 semesters

I also suck at social studies... I never liked the subject, never will... and I've never had any good teachers in it either, the ones I've had I've hated eaqually

I'm surprised I've done as well in Biology as I have... as it seems now, I'm getting top-grade in it, I usually get mid-grade, with or without a +
But I can't wait until 2nd year of Highschool, then I'm taking Physics and Chemistry classes, as well as 2 programing classes
I'm also hoping that my German Grades have gone up... I've never had any problems with languages, and since I read one language less in highschool, I might have become better at the ones I read... or so it feels, I just hope my teachers agree ^^

one thing's pretty silly; Swedish classes... we've barely had any this year, and since our teacher never had any of us before, we all feel that it seems impossible for her to give any of us just grades... we have Swedish classes once a week, on fridays... a lot of fridays are lost due to holidays and sometimes she's been gone on conventions or stuff like that... I fear I may only get mid-grade, but I've allways had top-grade in Swedish, as high as it gets... that'd make me sort of mad

No D&Ders I can find around here either. Scenario (Game store) is open again, so I might go lurk there, or hang around the bookstore.

    Re: Summer!

I've always had problems with math-related stuff.English and History are more my forte. But I never hated it until I got Mr.Waldrip.He's this old guy in his sixties and he has the most boring voice. He drones on and on.I really to try to listen but if it isn't his voice putting me to sleep it's the idiots in my class who will not shut up so I can hear. But old Waldrip dosen't notice,he just keeps droning on.I've had this teacher two years in a freakin row and I'm terrified he'll pull a Mr.Feeny and be my Algebra II teacher next year.

     *end rant-mode*

Sorry about that.I've beeen wanting to rant about this for ages.As for DnD,I was quite amazed there were as many DnD players as there are in my area.I live in a relatively small town in the Bible Belt. But I'm glad.We actually get to school a couple of hours early so we can game in the cafeteria.
