Hi, mind if I have a go?

If it's not a Gibbering Mouther, and I see it's not, it reminds me of the scene in the dog kennels from John Carpenter's remake of The Thing.  I guess it's just D&D monsters though so The Thing is unlikely to be the right answer but it's my best guess for the moment.  Does it look like it's wielding that polearm or just chomping on it?

Well firstly, since i guessed right, I get to pick the next critter and just for reference, it has to be a monster from any given D&D setting (Faerun, Greyhawk, Ebberon, ((I'd have to check with the thread creator if creatures from DragonLance count)), etc.)  You can pick anything from first edition to the present as far as I know, but it has to be something from the pen-and-paper D&D.  None of that "movie" or "cartoon" stuff.
And since I must go to class, here's my critter for guessing.
