Re: EPSC's "Just Do it" Discussion Panel

Well as far as a generic D&D game, it's up to the GM.  I know for a fact that Faerun has contraceptive herbs.

Cassil: A small shrug similar to a mustard plant.  Its seeds are ground into a fine tasteless powder that suppresses male fertility.  Men who want to avoid fathering children use this herb.  A male humanoid who eats a teaspoon of cassil will be inferitle for 3D4 daysalthough it takes an hour for the herb to take effect.

Nararoot: A black, woody tuber with a licoricelike flavor.  Shavings are steeped in hot water to make a strong tea that makes females infertile for D4+2 days.  Chewed raw (though unpleasant in taste), the root is more potent, working for 2D4+2 days.

Now, I know you can look up ancient/medieval herbal "Abortifacients" (plants that stop pregnancy) on wikipedia.  I did some research on this matter for my own world setting I am working on.

Really, it comes down to how advanced is your GM allowing their world to be.

Any bad side effects of these? Could taking too much make a person permanently infertile?

Just pointing out some confusing errors and typos in bold.

Edit: Wait a sec! Even the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting doesn't have a number in front of the steeped Nararoot's infertility table! Tongue Tied

... I'm the Mod and I'll typo in my thread if I likes to!  (Not THAT big of a deal but why go out of your way to point out my errors in my thread? It's a rather pointless typo that many people can read past).

@VKM: Doesn't say in the book.  I suppose overdosing could be tantemount to poisoning your body.... GM's discretion on that.

    Evil Princess Sarah Chlyallia:
I believe it would be HIGHLY likely that the baby would be infected via the umbilical cord (sharing blood and whatnot).  I'm pretty sure that the milk also contains the virus/curse since sexual stuff, bites (saliva) and blood transfers it.  So in short, yes, lycanthropy can be transfered those ways.

A mother's blood does not contact that of the baby, wich is why it's possible for mother and child to have differen't blood types.:) (Or so I remember from biology lessons)

Anyways, I was reading about the upcoming comic, Bâstard Elf... it caught me thinking, what would've become of Castor and Teagan? Can you tell us something about half-drow/half-humans?

Hmm, a quick question. Would a land elf and a sea elf be able to breed and would the offspring be able to breathe air, water, or both (hopefully not neither Stick out tongue)? Also if a land creature bred with a water fey, the same question? Thanks.

Maybe it would be like an amphibian?

Re: EPSC's "Just Do it" Discussion Panel

Well on the topic of land-creatures + water fey, since all fey are female, their children would probably be fey themselves... The only case I've seen for a half-fey was in a Dragon Magazine which had stats for a Half-Nymph.

Aquatic Elves and Land Elves would rarely if at all, "get it on".  The problem being the fact that they don't breathe the same stuff.  I suppose if a land-based Elf had a item or potion that allowed waterbreathing they could.  Even so, I have read that Sea Elves are reclusive and don't interact with the surface-dwellers.

Re: EPSC's "Just Do it" Discussion Panel

Thanks. I did read somewhere that sea elves can survive out of water for 1 hour per point of constitution so it could be possible to breed. Was thinking of making a sea elf char but then thought could be hard if she can't breathe so wondered if half-half would work.

Re: EPSC's "Just Do it" Discussion Panel

I suppose that is entirely possible to be one or the other.... If your DM is kind enough you probably could negogiate either an item that allows her to breath air or a build that would allow a half-sea elf/half-land elf child.  I got away with a half-Aasimar/half-Tiefling once.  Really it's all up to what the DM will allow.

Well for the sheer physical side of things the land elf could be on top and the sea elf could be underneath...
