This comic is so beautiful!  The contrast between the first and last panels is wonderful.

Dan, you are an excellent storyteller!

Hey, we could start a letter-writing campaign!

Susan is so enthused in Panel 5!

The contrast between 9/7's Panel 5 and today's Panel 4 is immense.  The claustrophobic symbolism of the brick wall is a nice touch.

It's horrible how the crowd turned on Susan like that.

    What would Spock do?

Poor Susan -- Panel One shows the progression of Susan's deflation as compared to the panels mentioned above.

Dan -- Once again I must compliment you on your talent for drawing faces.  You do both subtle and dramatic changes in emotion so well, with just a few simple lines.

... Dramatic emotions -- as in Panel Seven.  LOL!!!!

Nice of the class president to stay and try to help.  But what does this new girl want????

Two previous images (or studies?) of Catalina Bobcat?

She's a feisty girl!  She seems to have a history with Principal Verrukt.  Can't wait to see what she brings to the uniform plotline.

A line is drawn in the sand.  I'm surprised Verrukt doesn't ignite into flames from Susan's glare.

Luv Susan's reactions in Panels Seven and Eight.  Priceless!!!!

    Favorite gesture in Panel Eight!

Sarah is such a rebel child it's frightening!!!!

Dan, you are so good with faces!  Tedd's reactions to Catalina are wonderful!  Panel Three is stupendous!

I think I've figured out what her favorite word is.

Poor Susan.  Does she lack confidence in devising a plan?  Or does she expect that she'll be receiving that "increasingly severe" punishment?

Re: Story: Squirrel in the Classroom, Oct. 6

It looks like we're being introduced to one evil new character, to cosmically balance out the good new character Catalina.

    Hurray for Nanase okaying hair-swatting!!!

Re: Story: Squirrel in the Classroom, Oct. 10

At first I thought the resemblance to Susan was just in Ellen's imagination, since neither Nanase nor Justin had noticed it, but I guess the resemblance -- even in the sound of her voice -- is real.

Grace: "Did the curse involve her outfit?"

    ROTFLMHO!!!!!

Re: Story: Squirrel in the Classroom, Oct. 13

Why didn't Nanase see the resemblance before?  And why does Justin still not see it?  Does she have some kind of cloaking spell or something that it took Ellen to pierce?

Dan: Panel Three is magnificent!!!!  LOL!!!!

Drat!  I had hoped that we'd have at least the beginnings of an answer!

Again, Dan, I love what you can do with faces -- in this case, even the back of a head!  Panels Five through Eight are great, showing Susan's mounting frustration.  LOL!!!!!

Re: Story: Squirrel in the Classroom, Oct. 24

Very artful way that the two conversations play off of each other!

I especially like the contrast between Nanase saying maybe someone was joking, while Justin and Grace are seriously analyzing Tedd's remark about Superman and Batman.  LOL!!!

A big ROTFL!!! to the Panel Five.

Grace is correct in Panel Six.

N.B.  I don't know why the chapter title has reverted to "Hidden Genesis" for a while now, but I'm still assuming that this is a glitch of some sort.  I think we're either still in "The New Students" or in some as-yet unnamed chapter, but that we have not gone backwards to "Hidden Genesis."

P.P.S.  I don't know when the new chapter titles were added, but I just noticed that 10/6/08 begins the chapter "Squirrel in the Classroom."      -- Asari 7/17/08

    Awwwwww.  That is sooooo sweeeet!!!!!

    Poor, poor, confused Tedd!

"Some liberties may have been taken with this panel."  LOL!!!!

I think we can now officially declare Tedd to be over the funk he's put himself into before the party.

    Luv Panel Four!!!

Re: Filler: Sketches, Question, Dec. 7

    Dan,

Going to pure B&W would certainly be a dramatic change for the comic.

I guess my opinion is that you should trust your instincts as an artist and storyteller.

My own first reaction is that they seem a litle Erte-ish.  The sketches make me appreciate what can be done with shades of grey.

Would this also mean that there would never be any color comics or color fillers?
