Re: The Official DCI Character Stat thread! (3.5 Edition D&D, Forgotten Realms rules)

Well, I'm glad you like it, Kayless. Let's see... who's left to stat?

    1) Castor.

    2) Lucia.

    3) The Archdryad. Should I just bother with his current form or should I stat her previous human state?

    4) Thaddeus.

    5) Gruffyn. This guy should be fun.[ :D]

    6) Archeon. Okay, so he's a Half-Red Dragon, but what class(es)?

    7) Malagorn. This guy's going to be tough, for sure.

All things considered, I'm likely going to work on numbers 2, 4 and/or 5 next.

Note: Just editted some errors in Sraxsuth's stats.

Re: The Official DCI Character Stat thread! (3.5 Edition D&D, Forgotten Realms rules)

Okay, at this point, I think the next character I want to focus on is Gruffyn.

So, here are some questions for the DCI master.

    1) How many Fighter levels? I was thinking somewhere between 7 and 10. Maybe a few more.

    2) What do you suggest for ability scores? I was thinking (since I would guess him to be about Middle Age, even for a Shield Dwarf) 17-19 Strength (he did once carry Khaggoth on his back, after all), 11 (or 10) Dexterity, and 15-20 Constitution (need some help here) would work for physical stats. As far as intellectual/personality, I was thinking 10-12 Intelligence, 9-13 Wisdom, and 7-11 Charisma. I've got some ranges, but no definites.

    3) Equipment and possessions. As far as I can guess by his old sprite appearance, he should have stuff like a (+1 or +2) magical axe (any type of axe, your choice), armor (probably either a breastplate, chain mail, or scale mail) and shield, keeping them stashed away in Lord Leoncourt's estate for more dire times (like predetermined combat), though wearing his helmet at all times. Maybe also give him a wineskin or such filled with some potent (and potentially disgusting) dwarven beverage. Not that all dwarven drinks would taste bad, folks. Stick out tongue

    4) As far as skills go, I'd say stuff like 'Knowledge (Dungeoneering)' and 'Profession (Jailor)' or 'Profession (Guard)' would work. Maybe a few points in Intimidate? Feats, as far as I can tell, should be more focused around his choice of weapon.

Anyways, I'm thinking I might as well get the easier ones out of the way so that this project can come to an end at last. I can't believe I've gotten this far. Surprise

And of course, like the best movies, video games, or web comics, all good things must come to an end.

Gruffyn should definitely be sub-par on Charisma, no one can understand him, he's rather foul mouthed and reads Play Dwarf. 8 or 9 for Charisma.

    Scratchit: But he's a cripple!
Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

Nobles tend to do a lot of riding. I guess in this case though that Handle Animal wouldn't really help with Percy.

    Re: Lepus Rough Draft #2

One thing I noted going thru all the characters is Lupus.... I love off beat chars like this and have run a number of 3.5 campaigns making stuff like this.  The big thing that made me want to tackle this was that animals cant really get unarmed strike however you can add focus to their natural weapons so I adjusted for that.  It seemed right to give him Paw paw bite instead of claw claw... fun play on words that works.  Also upgraded the Fiendish template using the new HD from Fighter and updated Skills.  This results in a damage dealing furball that is mean enough to give its CR truth.  Also his pant stealing abilities have been augmented.  Let me know what you guys think.

    Galuf the Dwarf:

    Lepus

Chaotic Evil Male Awakened Fiendish Rabbit Fighter 8

Tiny Magical Beast (Augmented Animal, Native)

    Hit Dice: 2d8 plus 8d10 (50 hp) (ECL: 12)

    Initiative: +3

Speed: 10 feet (2 squares), Burrow 10 feet

    Armor Class: 15 (+2 size, +3 dexterity), Touch 15, Flat-footed 12

    Base Attack/Grapple: +8/+2

Attack: Bite +11 melee (1d6+4 piercing) and 2 Paws +9/+9 melee (1d3+3 bludgeoning)

    Abilities:

    14 Strength

    16 Dexterity

    10 Constitution

    14 Intelligence

    12 Wisdom

    14 Charisma

Special Attacks: Smite Good 1/day (+10 damage to a target on next attack when this ability is declared)

Special Qualities: Darkvision out to 60 feet, Damage Reduction 5/magic, Resistance to Cold 10 and Fire 10, Spell Resistance 15

Skills and Feats: (Ranks) Intimidate +8, Listen +8, Sleight of Hand(crossclass) +6, Hide +8; Multiattack, Improved Natural Attack(Bite), Weapon Focus (Bite), Weapon Specialization (Bite), Weapon Focus (Paw) Improved Natural Attack(Paw), Weapon Specialization (Paw),  Deft Paws

Possessions: None, although he tends to steal people's pants due to an unusual pants fetish.

Deft Paws: Lack of opposable thumbs dont stop this bunny.  This feat gives Lupus +3 to Sleight of Hand checks.

    Challenge Rating: 10

Now this is on heck of a title "Chaotic Evil Male Awakened Fiendish Rabbit Fighter 8"
    Lepus looks quite formidable.
