    Re: Games

I seemfully havent seen that before. Though I quit playing WoW about 3-4 moths ago with 3x 60's characters.

I think everyone has seen "the Leeroy Jenkins video"?

Oh and here's a video about alliance raiding an ingame funeral (the player had really died).

    WoW Guild pulls Phred Phelps:

In case you don't know who Phred Phelps is, he's the scumsucking waste of oxygen who organizes the "We're glad your son is dead" celebrations at the funerals of slain soldiers, further proving that no place or event is sacred to those who like to express their radical political views. Well, that same lack of basic human decency has hit WoW.

On Feb 25th a WoW player from Illidan realm passed away in real life. Members of her current and previous guilds (both horde and alliance) planned in in-game memorial service. Here was the original announcement:

"On Tuesday of February 28th Illidan lost not only a good mage, but a good person. For those who knew her, Fayejin was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. On Tuesday she suffered from a stroke and passed away later that night.I'm making this post basically to inform everyone that might have knew her. Also tomorrow, at 5:30 server time March, 4th. We will have an in game memorial for her so that her friends can pay their respects. We will be having it at the Frostfire Hot Springs in Winterspring,

because she loved to fish in the game ( she liked the sound of the water, it was calming for her ) and she loved snow.If you would like to come show your respects please do. Thanks everyone.

We're planning some cool stuff and we're going to make a video of it to show her family . So

I would appreciate it if nobody comes to mess things up."

They did this by having someone sign on with her character and do a one-last walk past all those who gamed with her, as sort of a last goodbye to the character that she played.Well, thats not how it turned out. Clan "Serenity now" crashed the memorial service with all all-out raid attack, killing all those who attended. (keep in mind most of the attendees were wearing tuxedos, dresses and other non-protective formal attire and did not have any weapons equipped).

Here were some of the tactful comments made the "noble" members of Serenity Now.

"GNOMELAND SECURITY Has Successfully Completed Operation 'Shock and Awe'."

    "Jihad upon your memorial"

"Phred Phelps is what we do."

"I was told she loved PVP. Just wanted to honor her."

"btw, she only gave me 19 honor."

"Even in her death, she has contributed to the server by giving us a sweet 19 honor. I would

like to thank her for that."

"Now she has 70 virgins and golden honey"

"I would like to buy her account. Please PM me info. I always wanted to own a dead woman"

"First off I wish I were undead so I could have cannibalized her corpse."

"I've got a video she would like to see!"

....indeed....and a video they made. You can see it here:
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7667194685876573666&q=serenity+now

Granted, it may not have been smart to hold such a memorial in a contested area of a PvP realm, but that is still no excuse. Both horde and alliance players attended without "accidents". I don't know about you all, but I think Blizz shoudl jump in on this one and have made every one of those attendees count as a dishonorable kill.

    Wall.

    Online idiots.

    Firing squad.

    You figure out the rest.

This is why jerks and WoW dont mix.

"Everything is run by women, hence making us men just playtoys and slaves. Dont even think of arquing with them since they can make your life a living hell. In the end there will be no need for us men since women can do it by themselves."

    Re: Games

geez, how are people like that even born?

even though they didn't know her, there's NO excuse disrespecting the dead like that... or at all

WoW seems to attract asshats a lot, that's one of the reason as for why I quit

(did it this friday, even gave my account with money and stuff of a value of over 1100g, my friend got a wee bit happy, yet sad, since we had played ever since the start together... but the money made up for it ^^ )

    Re: Games

Finally found myself a copy of Fallout 1 (which my computer is too good to play) and 2 and liking it.  I'd had Tactics for years, but Brotherhood of Steel (the console one) just seemed like a cheap Dark Alliance knock-off with Fallout characters.  Fallout 3 though...another good reason to get a new computer.

    Re: Games

Yeah, Brotherhood of Steel (BoS or as some call it PoS) was not in any form a good game. Tactics on the other hand was a decent spin off though the original two games are the best.

Oh also, the Fallout 3 originally being made by Black Isles before they where shut down has been released or rather what they had finished (which is far from a complete game) has been released for download. Fallout 3 aka The Van Buren Project.

Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

    Re: Games

I doubt anyone doesn't know about it yet... but Starcraft 2! Nice!

Also while not a PC game and thus not what usually gets my interest, Assassin's Creed is making me want to buy a PS3. Check out the Ubiday's 07 trailer featureing Lonely Soul by Unkle here, beautiful trailer, beautiful song.

    Re: Games

my brother recently moved out, leaving behind a lot of CDs he didn't want anymore... among them, I found Fallout Tactics, Return to castle Wolfenstein (got to love nazi-german stereotypes mixed with the occult) and Dungeon Seige

suffice to say, it's like Christmas in the summer... a very rainy, damp and clouded summer... no really, we've had like 5 sunny days during the summer holidays this year Sad

but at least the weather have allowed me to dig through films, books and games (digital as well as board)
what's better is, I found my Lucky Luke comic book collection... good times! Stick out tongue (I have to continue to fill that one up some day)

you know, all the guild wars campaigns are free to download from the official website, all you need is an account, which you can also buy from the website (you may not have noticed it, but I just tried to get some of you into playing guildwars, since I play all the first 3 campaigns in the Europe server) ^^

wooohooo, I just found Broken Sword 2 in the collection of leftover-cds
oh boy, oh, boy, oh boy
