RE: How well do you know your creatures?

Wait a tick, thats not a Vegipygmie is it?

If it is, then I think I might be remmebering things from back in the old days of Ad&d with my brother and our mutual friend jerry. In which case I MIGHT be able to figure out what that other thing is.

I think i may remember them from one of my frist d&d games that required us to aquire orbs of elemental power, looking at the picture it looks like it is tunneling through rock not water because of the cracks behind it and the fact that there seems to be a wall infront of it. I think those thingys are Khargars or Kahdars or Khargras, I can't remember the exact spelling it's been a long while but i am 70% sure i am right.

Well what do you know the gnome got them both.

Vegepygmie is the little guy by the shroom.

The Kharga is the fish like creature.

Both are from the Fiend Folio circa the early 80's.

    Your go Twitch.

The giant, leftover meatball is definitely a Beholder .
    Scratchit: But he's a cripple!
Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

i'll count it Jwm but just so you know in D&D a Gorgon and a Medusa arn't the same thing. Gorgons are Bulls covered with metal scales that breath out poisonous gases in D&D. But seeing as how Gorgon also means medusa in most mythology it shows you know what it is and thus counts.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?

True that.  The Gorgon Bull was also used in non DnD games like Might and Magic.

Not sure why there was a change.

    Heres a cool metallic one--

RE: How well do you know your creatures?

Gorgons are different from Medusa? That's interesting, would have thought they had kept to mythology on that. Medusa of course was just the name of a particularly infamous Gorgon in Greek mythology, I believe it was Perscius who cut off her head and put an end to her (though I maybe wrong).
