this may seem harsh, but I just really, really, really hate it when following things happen:

1) A religious group keeps ancient rules that are going against the human rights, or taking a beat at certain groups, let's say women and children, just because "that's how it was told ages ago"... well, age are suppose to give wisdom enough to see that rules can be changed if they are wrong, and they should too

2) A religios group moves to another country and try to enforce the country to give them seperate rules / laws, special treatment or something similar, just because that's how things were in their former country... well, hate to break the news to them, but they're not in their former country anymore, they have to adapt to the rules in the new one
EG: A man shot his daughter a few years ago, because she was dating a boy he considered "unworthy"... then he went on a rage in court because the swedish law wouldn't allow it, he considered himself right and a large group of people from his religion went on a demonstration and protested against the sentence...

Of course, I'm against his notion that anyone should be shoot for whatever religious reason.

Could be because in some cultures women are considered inferior, or it could be because of this guys shame in his own flesh and blood, or it could be because he believes its his responsibility as to who this guys daughter would find appealing or a combination of all of the above.

Its all wrong

Ive never believed in complete conformity and imposing anything on anyone.  If there is a clash of cultures I believe its best to mesh them together.

and about summer, i'm out from my first periodof college in two weeks, but we're in winter down here, there isn't any snow, just lots and lots and lots of humidity, mud pools and rain...

and fog, let's not forget the lovely fog (note: sarcasm is-not-in-use)

i may travel to New York in July to spend some time with my god-parents, but i haven't got the slightest idea of what i'm going to do there....well, i'll came up with something eventually.

No because the Father believed that the daughter by dating this boy had brought shame to the family and clearly believed that the only way to erase the shame was to kill the daughter. These honour killings happen very rarely and are not at all part of any mainstream section of their society.

Oh theres plenty to do in New York.  Of course youre going to find something to do.    It is the biggest mix of cultures you can find in one city in the USA and there are lots of landmarks to see and do things.  Probably one of the more exciting cities in the USA.  Of course if you were more of a US history buff then Boston is a far better city to visit for the summer

my school ended this Tuesday... unfortunately, it seems all my friends are gone on holiday, so I haven't done much these last few days... it's a shame...
this probably means the period where I won't be meeting my friends before August have begun a few weeks earlier than previous years
(since from now on, everyone, including me, will be gone on holiday trips or whatsoever so no one will be home at the same times... but usually most people are at home the first weeks, since either their parents or friends haven't begun their holiday yet, but this year it seems it's only me... how extra-ordinary dull)
