    A General Question.

I post this here, because I am only really familiar with the DCI section of this enormous WCN forum.

That and I like you all.  Except for that weird guy in the corner.  No, the other one, with the homemade hockey mask.  Little creepy, all I'm saying.

But I digress.  For the past two years I have been the DM for my weekend gaming group.  I think I held the reins so long not because I didn't want to let go, but rather, the rest of the group wouldn't let me (excluding my wife who got tend both the little ones almost single-handedly whilst I was in the throes of tale spinning).  Every week, my group was eager to see how I would twist and turn with (what I considered to be) a excellent balance of action and intrigue, brains and brawn.

But I finally have convinced someone else to step up to the DM plate, and allow me to just play for a change.  But now your probably asking yourself "What's the point?"  Well, the point is this: with my creative juices free to bubble elsewhere than the gaming table, I figured I'd take back to some of my writing.  So here's my question.  Where upon this expansive board would I place such a thing?  Should I post it here, where I can be sure people who enjoy a good fantasy read would enjoy it?  Or is there a more specific board somewhere on WCN that caters to those with whims such as mine?

Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

Hmm, there might be another board on the WCN Forums where it would be appropriate but I don't see the problem if you were to post the story here. Though of course EPSC's opinion is the real one you'll need.

    Re: A General Question.

The Entertainment sub-Forum might be the best spot for posting stories...  I haven't really explored the rest of the forum for RP threads, but that's my best suggestion.  I have my own website and tons of documents on my computer (and in note books) where I write up story ideas and such.

After seeing this, I re-read my original post and found that I might have been a wee bit vague as to my actual desires, and spent too much talking about why I wanted to do so.  So if you would, allow me to apoligize for the misdirection, and try to clarify my muddled thoughts.

I like to write.  Fantasy, sci-fi, adventure, past, present, future, whatever.  However, I also seem to need a public outlet for these autographical forays of mine.  Whether it be that I'm a glutton for criticism, or just need my ego stroked, remains to be seen.  I do know that members of my family enjoy it when I post things online, since then I can no longer hide it from them.  (Apparently I am slightly fearful of criticism by loved ones, but not from random strangers).

So that is my actual question: Would this be an appropriate place to post writings simply for the sake of letting forum goers read, enjoy (or not), and critique if they wish?

    Re: A General Question.

I wonder if someone could make a Writing section in the Entertainment sub-forum.  I'd find it interesting to see how many budding authors are hiding their talents here.

    Re: A General Question.

Yeah, I looked around and the closest thing to a place to post stories would be the rp room and both you and I know that's not a very active place. I'd suggest just posting it here in the DCI entertainment board, lots of good people here and it's fairly active.

    Re: A General Question.

Then it's settled.  As soon as I get my initial notes together, I start up a new thread in the Entertainment board (unless anyone of authority with the board asks me not to).  Look for it sometime this week.

W00t!  The first section of story is up.

    It has begun!

    Re: A General Question.

So if someone else wanted to post a story, would they need to make a new thread, or could they post in the same one? I'm just wondering, because if you are going to post in installments, it might get confusing to have bits and pieces of other stories in between.

    Re: A General Question.

    It could prove entertaining though.

    Re: A General Question.

Might be best to maybe make your own thread to avoid any confusion.
