And I'm married! Big Smile [:D]

Also, now that school is out, I can spend the summer working on my many comics and drawings. Cool [H]

That's the other thing I love about college. I'm off limits due to my age, so I don't have to put up with any of this romantic crap.
    What about the Romantics crap?

    Can't see the video, Tybs.

But in a nutshell, I just decided a while ago that I never wanted to be the one calling her friends in the middle of the night with breakup drama or stories about how she thinks her boyfriend is still in love with his ex or how the guy she likes never notices her. I can get drama by proxy though any one of my girlfriends, since apparently someone stuck a sign on my back that says 'free therapy' when I wasn't looking. I usually don't mind, but it's kind of a pain when you call someone with the intent of "Hey, let's go to the movies", and the phone is answered with "I'm so glad you called, I really needed to talk to someone. You see, *insert crises here*..."... and This it their third major crisis this yaer, and it's only Febuary. Also, I have a hard time caring about other peoples feelings beyond a very small and specific group of people, and I jump from obsession to obsession. Mush is not my thing, neither is drama.

Wow, that turned into a hell of a rant.

I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

    Re: Summer!

I don't mind a bit of romance, but I hate unnessesary bullcrap drama or when one part goes all nuts
    this scenario for example:
a girl and a guy are good friends... after they've known eachother for a long / decent time they decide they'd be more than friends... suddenly, the old friendship doesn't work anymore for some reason, one part freaks out and can't seem to stay cool and just be like they were before they became girlfriend/boyfriend

or worse, when one part is talking with friends / people they know, and suddenly gets the idea that the other one maybe can't be trust, then he/she and the friends try sneaking around or tricking the other part into revealing the secret if there is any, instead of just confronting the other part, or finding out in a bit more honest way... often, those ideas pop up for no reason... and that is worse... you know, when one part is unsecure, or something, and gets all worked up about nothing...

I can't understand why a relationship should have to be so worked up and hyped, if both parts are simply being themselves, staying calm and not getting stupid ideas, a lot of relationships would work so much better...

personally I prefer not to jump into a relationship if I'm not really sure it will work, I don't really like quick flings, I prefer serious relationships that I can be sure will last... that, ofc, have kept me single for the last 3 or 4 years, but at least it's kept me away from a lot of annoying drama and bullshit fights and crap like that

hmm, seems this is a subject of surprising rant-lenght

    Re: Summer!

@Phoenix Haha thats alright, it was just supposed to be an 80s hit by the band the Romantics, who I generally dont care much for.  The song I posted there is a'ight.

Now, just like you Phoenix, Ive been basically the soundboard to many of my friends, however I really dont mind it.  Im always happy to just help.  Ive never had the luxury of having a friend good enough to share any of my problems with so Ive always put my issues right on my own shoulders, taking it myself.  Friends are lucky to have you to listen to.

@Shaddow--Yep I know all of that.  And your first example is why I always am afraid to take friendships with girls much further than just friends.  Ive done it before and its ruined my friendships with them.  Huh? [:^)]  Im a shy guy...very shy when dealing with girlfriends, but I tend not to be that shy in making friends, so I typically find myself in this conundrum, which Ive accepted and Im happy with just friends...for the time being at least Wink [;)]

And Id be that insecure bloke in the 2nd problem.  Which is bad I read too much into things so often, but then Ive known people just the same way.  Its never good because chances are its not nearly as bad as it was and youre just being paranoid.

As for the drama, thats life really.  I dont like it too much either, but sometimes you get caught up in it quicker than you realize and you never intended it to reach anything close to dramatic.  It sucks.  But getting through it is worth it, especially if it ends up for the better.  Its life experience Wink [;)]

    Re: Summer!

My husband and I were good friends before we both realized we had feelings for each other.  Through the efforts of our gay friends (I kid you not... Our mutual lesbian friend and gay friend played matchmaker with us and got my husband to ask me out assuring him I'd say yes), we started dating and have been together since.

Incidentally.... Our first-year anniversary as a married couple is coming up: August 27th.

Even though Im generally a sarcastic ass (But in a good way, I dont intend to hurt any one an apologise when I do) most of the time around my friends and basically every one, its like there is a neon sign over my head that sees 'Seek Help Here' or 'Come to me, I have no problems of my own and will be happy to work through yours for you'.

But hey, its summer, and most of those people will disapear until august.

It's only a group of three people, who I feel closer to than my family. I'd never turn away my adopted sisters.

I'm quite happy with relationships to be honest, though I am only in my first one so I have no idea what I'm doing.

    Re: Summer!

Dexam and I were friends for a good six months before we started dating and we've been boyfriend/girlfriend for five years. I think being friends with your significant other is very important. You need to have things in common and want to spend time with each other so when the ardour cools a bit (as it always does once the hormones settle) you aren't left with someone you barely know. High Drama is exhausting and a waste of time.

In any relationship, you need only be yourself and be considerate.

Tap-dancing Christ on a pogostick! I gotta look for a new job... I've basically been fired (for what I assume is because I was the newest there) because my boss needs to cut back labor (I blame the heartless corp goons who control the way the franchises operate).

This is a minor setback hopefully but it is a set back nonetheless when I intended to spend my summer walking to work and drawing in my free time.

My field especially has been damaged where almost 85% of the jobs in certain areas have been laid off.
