Figured that this place needed some guidelines. So.........yeah.
Eh-hem.
Rule #1: Rule regarding thread length. Threads will be closed at one three times: A. When the issue at hand is resolved. B. When the no new posts have been made for at least two weeks. C. When I feel the thread has gone too far off-topic.
Addendum To Rule Number 1 - If you want a thread re-opened, kindly PM me and I will do so. However, since I am lazy, this may not be particularly timely. Also, this does not apply to sticky threads.
Rule #2: No attention whoring threads. Threads that say "I'm going to kill myself in nobody responds" and the like will NOT be tolerated. There are many other places you can go whore for attention. This is not one of them, and as such, said threads will be deleted immediately. Of course, this will be handled on a thread to thread basis. Threads will be deleted only at my discretion.
Rule #3: The "Don't Be An Ass" Rule: Racism, homophobia, nor any form of discrimination will be tolerated in this forum. Plain and simple.
Rule #3.5: "Don't Be An Ass" Rule 2 - The Rule Strikes Back: While it isn't neccesary to be the world's nicest person 'round here, this is NOT an excuse to be a big dummy head. Flaming others will not be tolerated under most circumstances*. Light-hearted insults and jokes are tolerated. However, if the person is offended or asks you to stop, please be polite and respect the person's wishes.
*If by some chance you are starting a thread with heavy Flame potential, please say so at the start of the thread.
Rule #4: Not really a rule, but a word of caution: Neither I, Webcomic.net, it's owners, or subsidiaries will not be held accountable for your actions. If you find something to be offensive or disagreeable, simply don't participate in it. The very nature of this forum makes it practically guaranteed that some content may be inappropiate.
Addendum to Rule Number 4 - Just as a precautionary measure, when starting a thread that may hold heavy content potential, please give a warning such as "May contain sexual content" or something along those lines. This way, I (nor the forum or it's owners) can be held responsible if someone reads or sees something objectionable. If I feel one is neccesary, I will add it personally.
Rule #5: I am god. Bow to Me. That one is pretty self-explanatory.
Rule #6: Spam should be kept to a minimum. Self-explanatory as well. While silliness is allowed, outright off-topicness is not*. Please try to keep spam to a minimum. This includes smiley posts**, one word posts***, and other stuff that I'm too lazy to explain right now. If I feel a thread is going off-topic, I will say so.
*Just for clarification, talking about similar experience or something along those lines does not count. Basically, my discretion again.
**Any post that consists entirely of smilies, emoticons, or that kinda thing.
***No posts to simply say "Yep" or something like that. Though I'll probably allow it if you at least make it look like an actual post.
