    Gender

Is it hard to tell girls from guys by chatting with them? Not the random chats with SexyDaemoness453 (who is doubtlessly a hairy forty year old man), but people with names that could go either way like Hari (people keep calling me harry, but I am e-butch http://community.sparknotes.com/gender/, so I forgive them) or Robin5454.
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute; set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

    Re: Gender

It depends how long you chat. but overall it isn't difficult (with a certain margin of error) to not only discover the gender, but sometimes the aproximate age (especially if they are about 14-15)

    Re: Gender

Depends on how well someone fits into a particular gender role.  Typically most women respond to something cute or sweet and tend to use a lot of smilies and ASCII art.  Guys tend to respond to cute things as "that's cool" or something similar.  Women also tend not to go into highly detailed or technical debates and if they do will respond with more "you don't understand" responses versus the typical male response "you're an idiot".  As I said these are tendacies, not absolutes.  I have had idle chat with someone online and spent the next hour trying to figure out if they are male or female without asking.
