    Re: Best movie hero?

Can I name more than one? Okay, since nobody's complaining...

    Flash Gordon - guileless

Ash (Evil Dead & Army of Darkness) - dude's got a chainsaw hand! And he says "Groovy."

Indiana Jones - to second the mention above

Superman - say what you will about the relative merits of Superman Returns...the crowd went nuts and I had a huge grin on my face when Superman well, returned that airplane safely to the ground in the middle of the ballpark.

Rick from "Casablanca" - stoic, seemingly selfish, does all his heroics without drawing any attention to himself.

One of the best comic book "heroes" definitely. I can't think of who mine would be, but chances are I'd probably go for an anti-hero too. >.>

What's the point of a hero with no one to save?

    Le sigh

I'm a little surprised nobody has said "Han Solo" yet. Hypocritically, mine is a toss-up between Jake Gittes of Chinatown, Die Hard's John McClane, and the titular Amelie Poulain from Amelie.

Now, if we were talking television my vote, hands down, would be for Firefly's Malcolm Reynolds.

It's already been said, but I'm going to second Ash from "The Evil Dead".  Bruce Campbell is the man!
