    Monkeyshine. comic script crit request.

Monkeyshine is my upcoming graphic-novel style comic.

The story revolves around a group of six housecats, stranded in a bleak future. They're only hope to return to their own time comes in the shape of the Monkeyshine, a giant floating, timetraveling spaceship built by a mysterious ancient cat civilisation and comanded by the nefarious Poncipus maximus. In this seemingly imposable task their only allys are a turncoat scientist/mechanic/magician named Oskar and a ginger man named Joel. It's a sci-fi epic with a complex storyline.

It's also the first book in a planned series of three.

    Ambitious? yes.

I've got a whole buttload of concept art on my deviantart account, but for convenience (and to hide my embarasing earlier workEmbarrassed) here's some links to my more recent work:

    I've
been working on this comic for over a year now, and all I've got to show for it (apart from my deviant art gallery) is a 120 page script. As you've probably guessed fom the title, I'm in desparate need of some real constructive critism.

I know it's a tall order, but would anyone be interested in giving the script a quick browse?

If anyone's interested please reply here or send me a PM and I'll PM you a link to the file.

Re: Monkeyshine. comic script crit request.

You're comic looks good from the test pages that I've seen so far. Your coloring is nice any you choose a font that complements your style nicely. Don't forget to use panels that overlay each other or are odd shapes, they will really add to the visual appeal of your comic.

Your style is really fun and unique (and it complements your storyline well). However your character designs aren't as good as they could be. You don't have a single calico cat or orange striped cat (which are also common how cats). The cats that you do have are similar in appearance (though not all of them). There are about three or four cats that are black and white, as so they’d be easily to confuse. You may want to give them a hat or something (except not as lame).

I liked your first logo more. It just looked more interesting with the little characters on the bottom rather then just the title. If you made it look more modern/clean like your second logo the result could be really cool.

I’d also like to applaud you on your planning. It’s nice to see that someone has finally taken time on their web comic and with an original idea no less. So I wish you luck!
