Rainblow Sux: Lickdown
Damned game!
I picked up Rainbow Six: Lockdown the other night. It's fun enough. I find that I die alot, but then again I just suck. I've read on the interenet that there seems to be a good chunk of the gaming populace that thinks that Lockdown ruined the series, that is to say that it sucks and "misses the point" so to speak of what a Rainbow Six game ought to be. I don't know. I'm not an expert on it or anything. However, I did try to get online and play against other people because that's the most fun with this franchise. You don't have to deal with targets zipping by like crazy or leaping off of buildings at you or jumping up and down when you shoot at them like some kind of retard. It's alot more "realistic" (whatever that means). However I found that I couldn't connect to other players on UBI.com because of the "NAT settings" on my router. For the life of me I couldn't find any real support on the Rainbow Six website and when I finally found something that tells me how to open up the ports, it tells me that I need a static IP for it to work. Dear god, why does this have to be such a retarded mess? I play Battlefield 2 and DDO and occasoinally other online games just fine. What is it about this game that can't handle basic router functions? Poor progamming? I just don't know. What I do know is that it makes me sad and I'm rather irritated by it. I almost can't play the stupid game now in my frustration (and of course I can't play online at all, frustration or no). Grr. Ok, that's all I've got.
