Re: SCIENTOLOGY whats up with that?

You may not be a six-year old, but you're certainly acting like one. I suspect that no one posted in this thread previously because they simply were not interested, though th lack of puctuation and bad grammar that renders your original post nearly incomprehensable may have something to do with it.

And insulting people isn't going to get you a warm welcome.

P.S. To pluralize the expletive you used, one adds "es", not "ess".

I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

Re: SCIENTOLOGY whats up with that?

I misspelled what? And the occaisional accidental spelling or grammar error is permisable, but you weren't even making an effort, and it rendered you post illegible. When people did not respond to said illegible post, you resorted to unprovoked and childish insults, rather than saying "Oh well, I guess no one was interested" and moving on. Neither I or C. C. star claimed to be perfect, and my comment was not a slight against you personally, but a speculation as to WHY no one replied to your post. And C. C. star, your insults were uncalled for as well, though I certainly understand your sentiments.

And cookie and roger x72, check your private messages.

Following that same logic, there is no way we could have come from a God(s) either because they really never show up. At least, I'M not in 24/7 contact with god, and if I was, I sure as hell wouldn't be going to public school.

I don't mean to hijack this thread from it's grammar correcting goodness, but I just wanted to point this out.

Re: SCIENTOLOGY whats up with that?

Scientology is kind of farcical in my opinion. And because they're so secretive and overzealous when it comes to their "teachings" and whatnot, I find it very hard to find Scientology credible as a religion. Heck, the Mormons have a rather odd origin, but at least they have core beliefs and aren't out to hurt anyone (and they make great public service announcements). Scientology just seems like some New Age hippy thing aimed at naiive people disaffected by the more traditional religions. The whole thing seems to be solely designed for the accumulation of wealth for its organization, not really about helping people. I heard Scientology came about when L. Ron Hubbard made a bet with a fellow sci-fi writer that he could invent a religion, and so he did. I guess it's okay if people buy into it and if it does them some good (and they don't try to force it on others). But it sure does seem to bring out the loony in some people.

Here's an article that you might find interesting (and very telling), about Scientology and how it operates:

I totally agree. While it may seem kooky to the great majority of people, I'm sure it must help some people... Didn't Travolta get Kelly Preston after he became one?

Re: SCIENTOLOGY whats up with that?

You're thinking of Katie Holmes I think. I'm pretty sure they're broken up now. Not much of a celebrity watcher, but I remember that after Brooke Sheilds had a bad bout with clinical depression, Cruise got a newspaper to publish this little Scientological rant of his about how all she needed was vitamins and psychaiatry didn't really help her.

Sheilds replied with a editorial saying, basically, that Cruise was an idiot, and that she hoped his "ridiculous rant" at least got the disease attention.

Re: SCIENTOLOGY whats up with that?

Ah, yes. When not hopping up and down on other people's couches, Tom was going on about how psychiatry was bunk and most of the anti-depressant drugs out there were far more harmful that helpful. He may have had some points, but for awhile there he went around trying to pass himself off as someone who had "researched" all of that stuff. I don't hate on Cruise, I actually like him, but he seems to be in danger of going off the deep end these days (or high-diving into the shallow end).

Re: SCIENTOLOGY whats up with that?

The thing about scientology is that the creator did a little too good of a job creating a system that defends itself.

You see, the creator recanted on his deathbed that it was all made up, but I'm sure scientologists assumed that it was the "alien spirits" making him say those things.

See anything you can say or do that would prove them wrong, they can just say the "alien spirits" are making us say or prove those things.  Its the same kind of issue delusional people have, where their delusions just come up with solutions to anything that would make that person question their delusions.

Anyone watch South Park? I thought their scientology stuff was pretty funny.  I thought the morman episode was pretty good too (I like mormans, but their religion is kind of wacky too, though they end the episode pretty well on that note, something along the lines of "maybe my religion is fake, but at least it makes everyone nice" or some such).

Tom Cruise is a total hottie and good actor, I just wish he'd stick to acting. Psycho celebrities are funny though.
