Well it's all part of perception. You see if people have to trek down the street for knowledge it can't be terribly good because it is so easy to get. While climbing a large mountain to gain knowledge must be better because it is just so hard to get.

Hmmm, very good observations. Here is what my kids said.

The wise old man must live far away from people so that only the really important questions get asked. If he lived closer then everyone would be asking him questions.

Now this kind of blew me away. I was not expecting such a thought out and clear answer when I asked my kids the question. I guess they are learning something after all. Cool [H]

So I was on my way into work in the carpooltoday and I saw a car next to us with Alaska liscense plates. Now this is not an everyday appearance that is for sure. I took a check of the passengers and none of them looked like Kayless, bummer.

Anyway there was a bumper sticker in the back that read "Homer, Alaska. A Quaint little drinking town with a fishing problem." Had to chuckle at that one.

Ah Ive seen 1 Alaska plate in my life here in Massachusetts.  Was in a parking lot, so I couldnt check to see if it was Kayless.

Haha, thats a great bumper sticker too.  Reminds me of the late Rodney Dangerfield saying "I was watching a fight and a hockey game broke out!"

@ Jwm, Your kids came up with a really good answer.

Yes, I am quite impressed with the thought they put into it. Right up there with University students.

So yesterday I found out that there was this sidewalk festivale here. It was Chocolate and Sidewalk Chalk Art on Solano Ave.  You could register for free a section of sidewalk to cover with your chalk art. Also you could buy tickets that allowed you to get different chocolate treats from the resturants along the way. So I packed up some food and our sidewalk chalk and the kids and I went out. I wish I had taken a camera because there was some very cool art pieces and also I woud have like to capture our own creations. Oh well, maybe next year. Aso for the chocolate we had chocolate soda's, chocolate bars and special chocolate surprise cookies. My kids thought that is was a great idea to have a chocolate day. And at the end of the day I heard something that I thought I never would. Dad we had too much chocolate.

Eh, I don't care much for chocolate not in candy form.

Oh there were many other forms of chocolate for the consumption. I just focused on the candy type to make the kids happy.

I took the boys to the beach today. It was kind of windy but still pretty nice. The tide was out and coming in when we got there so they got to climb around on their bellies in the water and play sea monster.

I used to enjoy the beach with my dad too.  Used to go to Walden Pond once a week for every week in summer.  Was really nice and fun Smile [:)]

I like the beach at sunset or dawn or in winter. I can't go during the day in summer unless I am shrouded in clothes, which rather defeats the purpose. I'm fish-belly white and the sun here bites (SPF 30 isn't enough).

Re: This thread is for JWM

Good thing that day happens only once a year, otherwise all the chocolate consumption would make for financially happy dentists.

I have once. It was Christmas about 7 years ago and I had gorged on this huge chocolate bar my brother had bought me. That combined with the stomach bug going around  really did not make for a pleasant few days.
