I'm not too good at 3rd edition rules, but shouldn't Thac0, as a monk, be able to at least have a chance of breaking free from his bonds, on a successful roll or something?

My guess is that once the Orcs got stronger the chance to escape was reduced dramatically. Okay time for some yellow warrior kicking but action. He is going to need some Tempts Fate type luck though.
