RE: How well do you know your creatures?
"I'm still looking into how to post it, I tried making an attachment but it said it is not a permitted MIME type." --Twitch It is certainly not allowed to mime type! Terrible thing too!
Scratchit: But he's a cripple! Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

RE: How well do you know your creatures?
@jwm--- well some monsters could be from Version 2, which was used back in the 70's, such as that rat with the dental problem
@MA Well dont be ashamed if it was an ordinary Rakshasa, they arent easy to deal with at all unless youre a high level.
@Vkm I didnt know Mimes were regarded seperately on forums

Well the hint I gave tells you that Raksasha can be killed instantly with a blessed crossbow bolt, all you have to do is hit it and it dies.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?
That looks like a gitzerai, I believe. Never seen one in a game, but I recognize it from my brother's monster manuel when it was here. But theres already a monster up for question...that wyrm-like thing. But I havent seen a reply from Undertow in the last 24 hours.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?
I see this race is *known* to you Tybaltus. It is of the people, it is Githzerai. I am fairly confident that I am correct in what "That wyrm-like thing" is.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?
Eh? Well let me double check your worm answer, and if its a match, then I guess we'll proceed as usual. As far as my answer, Im not gonna say Im familiar with the creature/race at all. I dont even know its alignment, I just know of it, and know its general appearance. It really helped you used an image that was also used in the monster manual book that my brother had too, thus making that connection in my brain. I was looking for "Githyanki" and came across that friendly looking fellow And it is correct to say a race as "a something or rather" You can say "its human" or "its a human" and so on.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?
Wait, you really don't remember much about Githzerai? I *know* you loved Torment, you do *know* that Dak'kan is Githzerai, don't you? Dak'kan is like one of the coolest characters in that in my opinion, esp if you play a high int, high wis mage and do that whole unlocking the Unbroken Circle of Zirthamon with Dak'kan and learn about his past and help him come to *know* himself.
The Githzerai and the Githyanki where once the same people but do to a conflict among the race in which the ones who become the Githyanki insisted on genocide of their former masters the Illithids (Mindflayers). Zerthimon made the pronouncment that there cannot be two skies and thus the people split and have been bitter enemies ever since.

OK, Ive confirmed that our short bearded friend with goggles is right. The Khython Slaymaster is that ugly worm demon. Man, thats impressive. There are hardly any images out there of this creature. - Twitch-3

Torment? I never played Torment. You must be confusing me with someone else All those names look like gibberish to me The Githzerai and the Githyanki where once the same people but do to a conflict among the race in which the ones who become the Githyanki insisted one genocide of their former masters the Illithids (Mindflayers). Zerthimon made the pronouncment that there cannot be two skies and thus the people split and have been bitter enemies ever since.
Hrm...thats interesting. But why did the Githzerai not want the genocide of the Illithids? And why do they look so vastly different? Githyanki are odd, grey and pointy like creatures, while the Githzerai are more flowing, haunting and dark. EDIT-Wait....I can see the resemblance. Its just there was a fixed image in my mind, and it wasnt fitting both races easily.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?
I could of sworn that you played and loved Planescape: Torment...
As for the Githzerai not wanting to kill all the Illithids, Zerthimon and the ones who chose to follow him where more interested in establishing themselves as a people and not hunting down Illithids, they had just rebelled from the Illithids after spending that last few centuries as slaves.
As for the difference in appearance, They live in Limbo and other places in the planes, such as Sigil (where Torment takes place). These are areas where belief and will power can shape reality, since Githzerai are Lawful Neutral for the most part and Githyanki are Lawful Evil for the most part, the Githyanki changed in appearance to reflect their nature.
Well you like these D&D computer games right, find yourself a copy of Planescape Torment. It is like a Billion times better than Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, and it has a truely awesome story with amazing NPCs, great voice acting, and a moveing sound track.

Sorry, dude. Though I know how much youve recommended it. (This time I remember! ) As for the Githzerai not wanting to kill all the Illithids, Zerthimon and the ones who chose to follow him where more interested in establishing themselves as a people and not hunting down Illithids, they had just rebelled from the Illithids after spending that last few centuries as slaves Heh, it seems the DnD world could have an indepth story on about any race. I guess thats one reason why its so popular. Well you like these D&D computer games right, find yourself a copy of Planescape Torment. It is like a Billion times better than Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, and it has a truely awesome story with amazing NPCs, great voice acting, and a moveing sound track Yeah, I remember your support of the games. How good is the graphics though?Anyway, heres another creature (Which Twitch is probably gonna get right off the bat) In attachment form---
