    Re: Samurai Roleplaying

It's a childhood story, it is relevent in relation to information given out in the game.  I'd reccomend you consider this when you look at some of the facts you already know - it'll definitely tell you what sort of adversaries you may be facing.

    Blood Sorceror:
I'm sort of looking at this point in time for any type of spellcasting character Shujenja, Wu Jen, or a Naga of any kind.  A Dragon Monk (A Tattooed Monk) would also be interesting.  Anything that we don't already have would help, although more of what we have would be good too.  Reply to this post if interested.

I haven't read the entirety of the story thread, but I've read enough to know that I seriously want in on some of this action. I have an idea for a character, a shugenja of the void. He dabbles a little in water and fire, but is devoted to the mysteries of air, the unseen element. And it is this path he follows, on his journey towards becoming a void disciple. Masters of the in-between.

The real kicker: he's completely blind, yet is more than able to defend himself.

So, should I develop this idea further, then post for approval?

    Re: RE: Samurai Roleplaying

Of course! I love that idea. We have Twitch coming in there with some very nice Samurai Support, and we have a few less active players, but the spellcasting department still has it's few deficiencies. Remember you can't have one area of Shujenga craft, one element which you are disallowed from use, but aside from that your idea is excellent.

Because the Shujenga speak with the spirits, your blindness may not be as detrimental as many would think, it would allow you to focus on the world around you through the elements, and sense changes in the air, water, earth and fire because of that heightened awareness of the world. I think it's a really good original idea, and I have to say I had been hoping you would show an interest in this RP, your roleplaying style and detail is superb.

Develop the idea as you see fit and you can post a character in here, although I prefer that you guys keep your characts in the character profile area for other purposes, in case I decide to do another game in this world, you'd have the characters on file in there.

Excellent. I must admit you've already read much into the character, but I'll attribute that to great minds thinking alike. Wink [;)]  I shall begin formulating a bio as soon as I get home from work today.

W00t! I'm done.  My character, the Shugenja Hourou Iji, is now on the character profile thread.

Blood Sorcerer, I leave it to you to bring me in.

    Re: RE: Samurai Roleplaying

Your character is accepted; excellent by the way, but I would like to know if he was formally given a name by a Phoenix family... was he?

I'll introduce you in a few... I need to figure out how best to do it.

In my mind, I see him having been adopted and raised not by a family ni the traditional sense, but rather by the whole of the shugenja order that found him. If you have particular families taht are strongly connected to particular orders in the Phoenix clan, then he may have been taken into one, at least in name. Or if you have names for particular orders, depending on the elements they specialize in, then he would naturally adopt the name of the order as his formal family name.

Useful read for anyone not knowledgible in the world of Rokugan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rokugan

the houses of the Phoenix Clan are as follows: Agasha, Asako, Isawa, and Shiba. Unfortuantly Phoenix is one of the few clans I don't actually have a clan specific book for.

    Re: RE: Samurai Roleplaying

    Nice.

I plan on doing a GM post relatively soon, I merely need to set up some sort of way of introducing you which both makes sense as well as contributes something to what's going on. Some of you may have a good idea of how I'm approaching it, but I will leave the surprise there for those that don't really know yet. In any case I'm looking forward to this game... it's been slow because of graduation coming up and the required preparations, but that's no excuse, sorry my posts have been long coming.

    Blood Sorcerer,

I have created a character sheet for Iji.  Mainly to aid me in adjucating what he is capable of, and setting limits for myself. It helps me to form a picture and story, if I have the mechanics behind it spelled out.

If any wish to see what I have created his character sheet is here:  http://www.lilbrownboy.com/3eprofiler/view.php?id=1336

    Re: RE: Samurai Roleplaying

What the hell?  Either it is a super-duper-strange coincedence, or a ginormously colossal joke, of which I am the butt, but all three of the RPs that I have joined, including this one, have swiftly died. Sudden, unexpected, and annoying deaths. We are finally starting to see the birth of some actual roleplaying implements (such as dice roller and other frills) and everyone just ups and hauls off! Does no one post here now? Now that all those that were once in school now have more free time than they know what to do with? Hell, I work 40+ hours a week on average, and I at least stop in once a day.  So, does anyone know if this story is going to kick back on again?  Or better yet, answer this one:

"Where have all the roleplayers gone?!?!"  Ethan Angry [C>:E]

I'm here way more than I should be. I've just been waiting for other folks to take a turn posting.
I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

    I drew Kaya.

She was originally going to be casting a fireball, the dragon thing just sorta happened.

Hey, Iji can have his entirely singular roleplaying adventure if you want.  I'm good with just posting for Iji. ^_^
