    RE: Games

Well, no, especially since I'm a power gamer, I build a very strong defence, horde money, and wait till I can build 10 nukesilo's. Nothing wrong with that, no reprecussions what so ever. Only the fact that you like the suffering of pixels may be disturbing to girlfriends and/or wives.

That's understandable my Mum didn't like myself and my brothers playing on Command and Conquer, she thought it would make us deranged or something...

So the game has no RL type effects of using nukes on your enemies. No wonder your mum was upset. All the fun and no responsibilities.

I think she was more concerned about seeing all those people die in horrible torture as their bodies were set a flame and they burnt to charcoal! But it obviously didn't effect us .

    RE: Games

Well i just finnished beating Lionheart, my ending had me and my legions of Undead fighting a new crusade that washes europe in blood. The few head demons that I didn't kill I bent to my will and forced them to do my bidding. I guess you could say I played a slightly deranged character.

Hey, that sounds pretty cool, I didn't know Lionheart was a good game, I've seen Stil play it a couple of times, but I think we were pretty soon left it for what it was.

    RE: Games

Oh it isn't that good of a game don't get me wrong. There are worse games true but ever since the Fallout guys left and started there own company (Troika), Bioware, ot is it Black isles that makes lionheart? has gone down the tube. No idiot speech, you don't get to kill the final bad guy or even talk him out of fighting which makes playing a pure diplomat impossible, and last but not least the story line is really lacking. Lionheart is a bad game in my opinion, but when you have nothing better to do...

Battlefield Veitnam on the other hand is awesome.

Just got it last night, it is sooo sweet. It's all about hopping into a attack helecopter and blasting War as you mow down VC. (Yes in game radio that everyone can hear blairing from your vehical. Nice selection of 60's music too! CCR, Hendrix, the works.) And the melee weapon is actually useful, used a harvester's knife as a VC to take out the entire US team once playing online. Yes, charlie is indeed in the bushes.

    RE: Games

Yeah, I heard Lionheart was bad.

Black Isle is a sub organization for Bioware.  If this was a Black Isle game, then this would be their first real bad game.  Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale were masters of the art of RPing, but they seemed to have slipped a bit.

    RE: Games

Lionheart never had a real fighting chance, project Van Buren was canceled and they took people working on that project on the Lionheart project to rush it.
What you can make of it by reading the interview's and such, the last days of Black Isle weren't very good. Lack of funding and support made Fallout 3 and BG 3 very unpopular investments, even more with the Atari claim to the BG rights and such. There were some very prommissing projects running. *sigh* Money does make the world go round, shame it's not always available in the right places.

    RE: Games

Probably not, Interplay still has rights to the Black Isle name if I'm not mistaken.

And the designers are individual employee's now, and there are no plans for them to form a independent house. (Which would create a lot of money problems.) So Black Isle is probably dead and buried.
