    Games

Has anyone been checking out World of Warcraft? I have been watching some of the videos they have on the site and it is giving me a tingling feeling. I think I might want to play it... but I am worried that it my just be another Everquest. Did anyone here get into the Beta testing? Or know anyone who did? I would like some information on how good the game is.

    RE: Games

I try NOT to look at the game. I refuse to pay a monthly fee for games. But then I see games like WoW and get tempted again.

Yeah... I look at it and suddenly ten bucks a month doesn't seem all that bad...

    I'll stick to NWN online.

I'm currently playing in Argyle, a FREE persistant world with DM's and stuff. I was running around with my level 1 wizard and almost had a heart attack... even rats are dangerous when you only have 5 hitpoints.

Roll for a good sig... 1.
    Darn, critical miss, oh well.

    Ditto.

    RE: Games

If I had the time I would most likely be interested. How ever a monthly fee to play the game does seem to be a bit much. If you buy the game you should be able to play it with out having to pay for it again and again.

That's a question you should probably direct at Twitch, Jwm, he is after all our Gnome expert.
    Scratchit: But he's a cripple!
Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

    RE: Games

Because those are Gnomes jwm, they ARE short.

    RE: Games

I'm so annoyed with my copy of NWN. Paid forty dollars for it; think I should at least be able to install the game before decidedly hating it. 'Keeps asking for something called a "play disc", which I never recieved, much less heard of.

And I've about played the plots out of Morrowind and BG. Both were undoubtedly good, but AC's got the dialogs for every other NPC memorized.

My current pinning is for Thief, as it seems to be quite an interesting game. (At 60$, it better be good, too.)

    RE: Games

Theif is ok... I wouldn't pay more than $25.00 for it. (Which is what I paid for Theif Gold Edition about 4 years ago.) It is a fun game but the story is lacking and once you start dealing with zombies it gets really frustraiting. The best thing about the game is how stupid the A.I. is, most guards will only find it mildly suspcious that an arrow has sprouted from their neck and give a half hearted search for the culprit before going back to whatever they where doing.

Hmm, you should have gotten three discs AC, Installation Disc 1(Red), Installation Disc 2(Green), And Play Disc(Blue). I am sure you already plan on it but I suggest going back and demanding your third disc... and maybe a free slurpee for your time.

    RE: Games

Don`t think I will ever bother with WoW, don`t like the character models and based on what I have read on the forums this game is gonna be filled with 14 year old 1337 d00ds.

Let`s hope for Blizzard they get rid of some of these guys before the game launches.

    RE: Games

Good thing I held off until any purchases, then, huh?

Yeah... You really gotta love AI in some of these games. In Bloodmoon I found a rampant werewolf in the woods, entirely non hostile. It followed me into the town where it attacked every bloody creature in sight. (And if they weren't bloody before, they were sure bloody after he had finished.)

I can't return NWN. I bought it while it was on sale last December (as a much-needed Christmas present for myself), lost it to storage, and just found it again. My reciept is a bit... expired, maybe? Stupid AC. X+
