Well for the first time that I can remember, there is a documentary as the #1 movie in America, and it is the movie I went to see. Ill be reviewing 2 movies in this post, the documentary AND one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) (R)

The documentaries base is really the truths behind the white house and their actions revealed. Detailed explinations and behind-the-scenes footage of all the contravercial topics that have made Bush's presidency. From the election, to 9/11, to the Patriot Act, to Afghanistan, to Bush's past, to the Iraqi War, it covers it all.
Now I know what youre saying--youre saying you dont care for politics, and I dont much either, but its important to know whats going on in this world we occupy. This film tells the story the White House doesnt want anyone to know.
Now people say the biggest problem with the movie is it is a muck-raker and it is too one sided. Well thats Michael Moore. Hes got a point of view, and he is conveying it. Whats wrong with that? If you object so much, make a movie countering what this movie says.
This movie conveys the truths in ironic ways, often funny, but then there are also very grusome scenes and very depressing ones too. Thats just the way it is. The movie never dragged on and Moore was on a blue streak tearing Bush apart, and rightly so. But man, there were hilarious scenes. You should just watch them for that purpose.
Only problem with this film to me is that its often very fast paced, so its a LOT to absorb if its new to you. The whole oil-corporation behind the scenes was new to me, and it went FAST. Moore could have also shown more of the ignorance that some people have, and used it as irony. But that is just a minor critique I would have done.
If you are anti-Bush like me, you will like this film and go with its flow, and learn a few things. If youre pro-Bush, watch this film, then see where you feel you are at. If you are neutral, watch this film, then see how neutral you are. Every American should see this film, period. But you dont have to be American to watch this film to enjoy it.

Now, one of the worst films I have ever seen:
Freddie Got Fingered (2001) (R)

The general plot is a 30 year old slacker cartoonist that lives in his parents basement played by Green wants in on a TV deal, he also has a great deal of anger towards his father, played by Rip Torn.
Now the real question is: What the hell was I thinking when I flipped channels and stopped at this monstrosity? Was it because I was bored? No, Im not much of a masochist, so I would have proceded. Was it because it looked interesting? Hell no! Was it because the remote control broke? No. Its because I was curious as to what extent Green would take his movies. I knew it would be gross-out humor, but I wasnt QUITE ready for this.
For those who have never seen gross-out humor, this movie would be like a baby whod never been on an amusement park ride that chose to take the monster roller coaster right off the bat.
This movie has nothing redeeming about it. It is grotesque in every way, shape, and form. I got no satisfaction from watching this movie, and had a terrible time just watching this film. It was murderous. But I wanted to sit through it anyway, as I wanted to see how much I could truly hate one film.
You get the feeling that Green thinks he is terribly funny when really hes just terrible. He seems like he thinks hes amusing everyone upon every action he makes and every bodily function joke he throws out there. But its just horribly offensive.
Green is one of those actors who because of this movie and based PURELY on this movie is on my most hated actors list. It was just that bad.
