Re: Goblins: Life Through Their Eyes

Okay so that last EP for Goblins was great. Since it was not to violent I was able to share with my children. They are 6 now. So after I was done reading it to them I mentioned a treasure chest in the hallway. They both ran out of the room and into the hallway looking for it. Then one of them comes back and asks if it is an illusion. By that time I was rolling on the floor with laughter. All I needed to do was paint them green and put a false mustache on one and instant Goblins right at home.Big Smile [:D]

    I see possibilities here:

Need the garden dug over? "Hey kids, there's a treasure buried in the garden"

Need the chimney swept? "Hey kids, there's a......." etc etc. Cool [H]

Oh not to worry, I have used many stories along those lines to get things done. Being a parent is a good/evil job. Devil [6]

I think I'll have to take some notes just in case I ever have children.

    Scratchit: But he's a cripple!
Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

My dad tried to teach me to play D&D when I was in 1st grade.

    Very dumbed down of course.

I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

Re: Goblins: Life Through Their Eyes

I never learned how to play any bit of DnD until I played Baldurs Gate, which I started playing about 6 or 7 years ago now maybe?  Around that time.

But never played DnD outside of any games such as Baldurs Gate or Icewind Dale

Your father should be given a reward or some sort of acknowledgment. That is the kind of role model that all children should have. I know that I am doing my part. I used to read from the PHB to my kids starting when they were 3.

Yes he should. And for me, that's saying a lot considering how badly we get along nowadays.

I was also exposed early to such wonders as "Star Trek" and "Star Wars". So such things are eternally embedded in my soul.

Re: Goblins: Life Through Their Eyes

It was never absolute that he killed that kid.  Maybe he like imprisoned him in some kind of orb of stasis.  The last comic did ask the question "How can you keep your status as a paladin if you kill innocents", dun dun dun.  I think the dwarf is a typical player of any rpg, just goes out and kills monsters, gains exp and does not really consider the deeper issues, kinda like min max but higher stats and decent int.

I hope the blind goblin is elite and he is just taking the dwarf on a wild journey through the woods.  I very excited about it, I can't wait to re-read this latest comic over a glass of wine at home!
