Problems with browsers - Years on now, still not woking

      1. About 1 year ago I reported that these forums have MAJOR problems with any browser other than Internet Explorer. As of yet all these problems, such as formatting and the toolbars not working, have yet to be addressed. I know this forum is powered by  Ccommunity Server, and so the fault is not of Webcomic.net, but the fact that no browser compatibility issues have been improved upon in the slightest is frustrating at the least.
      2. There seems to be a bug with refreshing pages. Normally most ASP/PHP pages contain code to flush the cache of the client to insure dynamic content is seen the moment it is updated, but Webcomic.net does not seem to do this, The only way to update the main forum listing (tested in Opera and IE) is to go into a specific forum, then come back to the forum listing, and then do a hard refresh (clear cache+refresh). Again this is probably an issue with Community Server, which while it is not the fault of Webcomic.net, it does annoy me at the shoddy service they have decided to partner themselves with.

For the record, I preferred the forums pre-2005 Big Smile [:D]

We did an update quite a while ago to fix some major problems with firefox, and like Prince Karo said, it works pretty good normally.  The caching issue is because it caches data-side actually.  I don't think hard-clearing your cache really does anything except help you take the amount of time it uncache the data.

I have a working copy of the forums version 2.0 (these are 1.1), but they are in beta right now and so I'd kind of prefer to wait until the full version comes out later this month than introduce new bugs.

What browser are you using?  If its a Windows browser I might be able to test it on the new forums to see how it runs (though the caching thing probably won't go away, even my code caches a lot of stuff since I don't like stressing the server with constant database draws).

Might just be the software - but I have a preview panel that's out of this world. Forums codes and links turn my posts into cryptic train wrecks. I'm having similar issues with refreshing.

I'm using Opera browser. Standard free release.

Why do you use opera? Honestly I can't think of anything that opera has that firefox doesn't.
