TWC is obviously very different in appearance as of tonight.
In addition to the difference in appearance, a great many things have been restructured under the hood.
Some of it, hardly matters to most of you, the bot-detection mechanisms, the way the site ranking is calculated, etc, but another feature I feel could be interesting to some of you.
Some of you will notice that the sample comic URL is no longer used. We have, instead, created a comic calendar, where you can submit the information for one or more comics. An entire page is dedicated to information about each and every webcomic, complete with navigation for the submitted comics.
Its entirely possible that some people, who want to have a comic but don't want to mess with web design, could use this mechanism to control their comic. If this is something people might be interested in, I will continue to expand this section of the site. Everything at TWC is, so far, still free other than banner advertising, I *might* offer image hosting in the future, to help complete the webcomic package for those who might want to use TWC for their hosting.
I'm imaging this type of situation would work the best for those who are just getting into webcomics and only need a simple solution. In the future, I hope to add comic comments like dndorks has, and a full featured archive feature. Even more, I'd like to eventually offer some sort of "skinning" feature, though thats a lot of work and I'm not sure if I can dedicate the time without a lot of use from the community.
Anyways, I hope everyone likes the new look, the TWC engine is more streamlined and leverages a lot of the capabilities of SQL2005, so adding new features should be much easier.
