    Ride of the Valkyries

Well, some people, for some odd reason, have said that the whole Valkyrie thing i did was pretty amusing (some even said funny *gasp*). In light of these events, i'm prolly going to be making them on a semi-constant basis, regardless of lack of comic or not (although lack of comic will most likely be the reason). I'm still trying to get a program to actually make decent jpg's, so until then, gif's will have to work. I'll host files on the page and post a link in this thread when there's a new one.

For the mean time, first one is in strip 64's rant, as some of you might have already seen

    RE: Ride of the Valkyries

Actually I'm rather disappointed by this thread's content's after the title promised so much. I was hoping to rather buxon women in leather armour but alas not ...

Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

Great to see Psyduck back, a duck of few words but each conveys so much. By the way how much does it cost to hire him out? Does he do birthdays?

It's up. Ride of the Valkyries 01...

It's linked from the rant, but you can have the link here as well to easen things up. A few things i wish to clarify first:

    1) Dammit, it was cloudy, and the camera's flash always sucks for up close shots, so the pics are darker than they technically should have been.

    2) Damned things are hard to pose over carpet

    3) File's heavy, gif format again, at around 800k's

    4) Hope you enjoy it

Ah, that's great...I love the way you have them posing, Archer. I wonder will Cathy and Phil hit it off?

    Better than most soap operas!

    RE: Ride of the Valkyries

Pumping gas on a plane has never been so wrong.

    No! No!.. No!. ...

By the by... theres this magical program... its called MSPAINT. (Considering lack of other things.. or the time to learn to use them).

You can grab those huge ass JPEGs, slap them in there, resize them, save them as a jpeg again... and re-take them from there. What i think youre doing, is setting the pictures on the same resolution but resizing them directly on the comicky-panel thing. So youre in short, using them at max resolution on a presentation thats does jack shit with it. But i dont have half an idea of how youre doing it.. it would help to hear about it. Maybe you ARE using paint.

    Regards,

    Mike

    RE: Ride of the Valkyries

Actually, those two strips i have made were done in MsPaint. The problem itself lies in the fact that apparently the jpeg format (or at least the particular way MSPaint compresses the files) seems to dislike certain colors i've been using on the strips, namely bright red and bright blue. I did try using different programs to convert from bmp or gif to jpg, but all 3 of them had the same effect (acdsee, mspaint, and some other freeware i downloaded then deleted). a friend recomended another program, i'll try that out soon when i make the new strip (hopefully either this weekend or early next week-ish)

Although, i'd appreciate your help with teaching me how to use Photoshop, seeing our dear artist hasn't made good his offer to teach me at least the basics.

    RE: Ride of the Valkyries

The dear artist doesnt sound so dear.

    Not dear at all.

But in the lil bastard`s defense, It aint quite difficult to get a grip on photoshop. Just needs a bit of time. To be real.. kinda of a big bit of time of sitting it down and getting your groove on with the PS.

When do we get a new RotV then?

    Regards,

    Mike

    RE: Ride of the Valkyries

Erm... had the intention of doing that today, but my afternoon was a bit... hectic... had to go to the doc, had to do some bank runs, etc. In the end, i couldnt do it by noon, which is when there is most light and the shots actually come off well. I'll probably get to it on friday. Sorry for the delay
