Are any other Americans sick and tired of our political system?

ok b4 ppl start calling me a communist, i am for democracy. however i am against out 2 party system. if u look at the views of republicans and democrats they are almost identicle on anything that doesnt' require a yes or no answer, in that case one side is "yes" other side "no"

when was teh last time a canidate 'kerry cough cough" didn't say one thing to pleas ehis party than as soon as he was on teh ballot he got in teh center to try and attract all people.

witha two party system u can's win the election based on yoru beliefs only by stay as neutral as possible or siding with a majority, poloticians are just puppets for teh people and i'd liek to see a change, a canidate who sticks to their idea's and doesn't change to appease people but rather tries to make their point and change their critisizor's minds.

RE: any other American's sick and tired of our politicle system?

So you want someone whom doesn't care about the people's opinions but instead uses the country's rescources to further his or her personal ambitions?

By the way, it isn't just a two party system anymore. There are really a lot of people rallying behind the Green party.

A president, Democrat or Republican or independant, shouldn't just try to please his/her party members. He/she should be trying to find solutions that are mutually agreeable. Less things get done that way, but it's more in line with the point of Democracy (and communism, and the republic). That is, a smaller government made up of and controlled by the people.

You honestly believe the Green Party will ever get into power in a country like America?

RE: Are any other Americans sick and tired of our political system?

the green party has barely any fallowing, it's just the biggest indepentdant party. last election nater got what like 2-3% of america's popular vote? i don't want a president who uses america's resorces for themself i want a president who has their own values who says on all the major issues "i believe this:" and that doesn't change just b/c they're trying to attract more votes.

i'd like to see a resident who had a moral compass and made desicions based on what they think is right not what they think will get them re-elected

and about the spelling, i sry but i wrote this post when my brain was on and my finger were almost alseep. so ... yeah

2-3 percent of American voters is still several million people. A lot of citizens have become disenfranchised with the democrats and republicans, there are a lot of people whom violently dislike George Bush's policies. People aren't exactly rallying behind Kerry. So where do they go? The Green party is charismatic, new, and far left wing.

RE: Are any other Americans sick and tired of our political system?

The problem with current bipartisan politics is that there is no middle ground. I'd like to think that when this country was established, it was in the hope that americans would choose leaders who would be apt to governing the country using a combination of both federal and state government tactics. The problem is that both parties are too far to either side. Republicans want the states to empower themselves and govern themselves without the federal government butting in, where as democrats think the federal government ought to be more in charge. Both sides are wrong, and both sides are idiotic. You can't effectively govern your people with policies that are based on beliefs that are not balanced and objective, and neither side has the capacity to tell the difference. All those kinds of beliefs do is make Americans so intent in what they believe in that they won't agree to even consider another viewpoint. I'm not saying I'd vote for a homogenous America, I'm just saying that moderation is important, and neither side is really considering what the moderate approach to any of these problems might bring in terms of change.

We need a president who uses common sense, not someone who leads entirely with their own moral judgement. Some people don't have any sort of decent moral judgement, and I think our current president fits that mold.

Sorry for any potential offense in advance. Just throwing down my opinion, as per usual.

Bill! Billy! I still want Bill back for president. He's much better then bush. Okay okay, maybe he didnt have a lot of decency but atleast he wasnt so eager to go to war.

Personaly I dont have anything against the political system in America. I love the fact that everyone can run for president. As long as people have the freedom to vote on whomever they want, and the voting is honest (not the florida debacle....) there's nothing wrong with the politics in America.

RE: Are any other Americans sick and tired of our political system?

All presidents were bought and sold a long time ago. Anyone remember when there was an attempted assasination on George Bush Sr during the Clinton Administration? I'm sure most of you didn't, since the media (whose information these days is also bought and sold, ala Fox News and CNN) didn't air jack about it because of our country's retaliation. We launched something like twenty-two million dollar apiece cruise missles on Baghdad because of a failed assasination attempt on an ex-president. So don't think Bill Clinton's much better, though I do agree he had more of a cautious foreign policy.

Don't get me wrong, I love living in America. It is a privelege, but our presidents continue to do nothing but pursue courses of action that make us look like ****ing idiots to everyone else.

Uhuh, thats what I meant to say..except that I think he's a bit better...but what do I know! I dont live in America! The whole scandal with monica and such. I couldnt care less, as long as someone makes good political decisions, he can do such things, I wouldnt mind. Those articles, to comment on them, I dont believe there are any political leaders in large country's that never got their hand dirty in such affairs. Even in my country people are questioning the prime minister about letting soldiers stay in Iraq and even about a soldier that got killed there.

RE: Are any other Americans sick and tired of our political system?

People like you are a minority in this country. Everyone wants to believe that if their political leaders aren't caught doing something, then they're not suspect of anything. Most of our political leaders have gotten their hands dirty in various affairs, and considering how bad scandals can get, a little sexual deviance isn't jack compared to a bunch of young kids getting cut down in their prime for a cause that even the administration is having a hard time coming up with reasons for.

What country do you live in, out of curiosity?
