    RE: Next story arc...

It is a game Shortie wuold love, the Story Teller is encouraged to screw with the players, because they are scum, and the game encourages the players to backstab lie cheat and steal from eachother. all in a futuristic setting inwhich every aspect of there lives is controlled by a super computer. Oh and the players are all grown from a lab by the computer and they get Six clones (called a six pack) and if they die the next clone is released with all the knowledge and memmories (yes even it's own dead(s) ) intact.

The werehouse of the company that made it doesn't print it anymore but you could try your local gaming stores and see if they order out of print books. Or you could go here to ebay where it is being sold, latest bid is $9.99 I think the retail price is $25.00.

I was thinking that maybe it would be cool to use GURPS Discworld, although as Paranoia, it's sold out, it is damn great to play, and has a lot of imagination in it.

Do make note that I live in mexico... even though there are many stores here that carry RPG's, not many of them carry most GURPS games... let alone one as "exotic" as this one. And i'm still not too keen on ordering via net. I know it gets here, but it's expensive, and there may be some slight damage to the book

    RE: Next story arc...

Ture I guess it is a little expensive if you order from Mexico, I am just used to ordering from within the country... Well if you know GURPS and you know Discworld then you can pretty much BS it, plus I have the GURPS Discworld book and can give you information.

And you could always get it off of *Cough* Kazza *Cough*

How could it slip my mind, I know the perfect game for them to play!

Shadowrun, so far we have had mideval fantasy, modern gothic horror, how about futureistic alternate earth?

    RE: Next story arc...

Havent ever played shadowrun myself, but i know a bit about it... heh, it'd b basically like playing D20 Modern with the Urban Arcana setting... really messed up... though its an interesting idea for later on *nod and smile, then writes it down on his idea pad*

oh, an idea pad, that is such a good thing to have. I had one but now have no idea where it is. I probably should have wrote down where I put it.

    RE: Next story arc...

There is more to Shadowrun than just a modern fantasy game, the whole world has an atmospher and a feeling that really add to the game. Besides D20 Modern isn't futureistic, they don't have cyberwear, you can't "jack" into the Matrix and go decking like that movie Johnny Numanic, I think that was what it was called...

    RE: Next story arc...

Ah, well im quite sure a creative gamemaster could add that sorta stuff. We've already played a Mage session in which, at one point, our ST introduced our characters to a bunch of Virtual Adept geeks that were messing around in a sorta Matrix thing, run by the technocracy for testing. We pretty much sent it down to hell... well, my character did, anyway

    Bye bye agents...

    RE: Next story arc...

Aye, you can do anything really with roleplaying games. Doesn't matter the system, hell tommorw I will start playing in a Squarsoft/Final Fantasy game useing D20 rules in a game world that my friend made. It is an amalgam of pretty much all the Final Fantasy worlds plus the Secret of Mana series.

It looks like it will be pretty cool I am going to be playing an Al Bhed Gadgeteer, useing the Tech Specialist from Starwars D20 and useing the skills and character sheet from D20 modern it makes a pretty cool character.

    RE: Next story arc...

Careful with the D20 modern character sheets if you want to make some editions to a game. Last time I tried that the PC's ended up being somewhat overpowered because some of the rules for the D20 modern classes weren't exactly something i had studied before (oops!). Other than that, D20 modern works quite well, classes/skills/feats are right on the money. Still, if anything, i always critizise the fact that the whole Hit Point based system is quite crappy. Example: Your character can be fighting with no penalties even after he's been stabbed, sliced, fletched, bitten, poked, burnt, and frozen, just as long as he still has 1 HP left... after that, he suddenly collapses on the floor and lays there bleeding. Quite... unrealistic... (this is not discussing fantasy gaming as "realistic", this is discussing game mechanics, so dont start going "but its a fantasy game, it doesnt have to be realistic" on me ). If anything, it should have some sort of penalty, at least for when you hit 10 HP when you're level 10 or whatnot... The only game that has overcome this is Star Wars, whose system i not only appreciate but encourage. Vitality and Wounds are a great idea...

    Course, that's just my opinion...
