If they are true neutral and it is for the sake of balance, then I say they definitely would do it. Yes, DEFINITELY. Theres that whole idea of "The greater good", just transfer that to the true neutral's mind as the "greater balance."

If theyre chaotic neutral, I also see it happening. Theyre very easy to make decisions for.

If theyre lawful neutral, its a bit more tricky. But perhaps thered be something that would pull them along to do it. Balance is still a school of thought there.

Re: The Return of the World within EPSC's Mind (D&D Campaign Discussion/Suggestions Centre)

The reasoning for the Lawful Neutral is that they NEED to maintain order. They think that if they were physically there, they could cease the senseless chaos that has stricken the world in their absence.

The Ruby dragon is CN and I'm leaning towards him not killing off his Elans. He'll maintain that he and the others knew what they were getting into when they sacrificed themselves to save the Light Dragons (Metallic Dragons) and that they don't NEED bodies to help the world.

It sounds a good idea. I guess the Ruby dragon would try unsuccessfully to convince the others to come around to his point of view

Re: The Return of the World within EPSC's Mind (D&D Campaign Discussion/Suggestions Centre)

Considering this event is farther down the road in the campaign, I worked out 2 scenerios for the player playing the Elan in the group... If he is alive by the time the event happens or if his character has passed on and he is playing something new.

    ((Cadmus Alive))

As you enter the room, you see 6 circles with psionic markings, each a differnt color (Red, Purple, White, Green, Blue, and Yellow). Floating in beams of iridencent light are several people with hair and clothing color matching their respective circles. You notice only five people surround the red circle.

SPOT CK 35: You all see vaguely visable figures of a red-haired man, a purple haired elven maiden, a green haired half-elf, a white haired dwarven maiden, a blue haired man, and a blond elven maiden. They are standing with their eyes closed within the circle matching their colors.

Cadmus, you are struck with a unbearable pain and drop to your knees. Everyone else, you see Cadmus collapse to his knees and his eyes are glowing red.

Cadmus = You see the ghostly form of Ruiadhri standing in the middle of the circle. As you look around, you see the other gods.

Ruiadhri frowns as he sees your pain. You are free to speak to him.

He explains that, in essence, Elans are components to a spell that will bring him and the others back to the physical plane. He's pretty sure that the elans will cease to be in the process. Ravin suddenly intervenes and tells Ruaidhri to hold his tongue.

Damn it, Ravindra... Cadmus and the others aren't playthings for us to cast aside. They have lives and feelings... Nehushta was right.

That brass is idealistic and foolish. Ardwyad, Phyrrus and I made the council to make sure you all didn't do anything fool-hardy.

Look where it got us! You know what? Why don't you go and drop from the sky, Ravin.... I wont hurt the very beings that worship me.... I'll find my own way to come back.

You've chosen your path, Ruaidhri.... And it is no longer with us. Farewell.

Ravindra turns her attention skyward and starts chanting in a strange language. The other four dragons join in.

The rest of you see the other five circles flash and the light blinds you. You hear several cries of pain that fade to five cries of triumph. The thirty people have vanished and in their place are a purple haired elven maiden, a green haired half-elf, a white haired dwarven maiden, a blue haired human, and a blond elven maiden.

The blond woman looks to Cadmus and the other Elans. She sighs. Without a word, she and the others vanish.

Cadmus passes out and five of the other elans also drop to the ground.

"Cadmus and the others will be fine... I only wish the others could have found another way... Now I'm exiled from Anthesius.... Like it mattered"

    OR

    ((Cadmus Dead))

The only thing that's different is Cadmus' body is among the Ruby Elans. The other Elans are spared and Cadmus' body lays cold on the ground, untouched by decay. The ghostly red-headed man stands before you and looks sad.

"I couldnt hurt them... or save Cadmus... Now I'm exiled from Anthesius.... Like it mattered."

((The reason the scenerios stop short is for impromtu talk and because I haven't thought of the rest of it))

I think that's a pretty good couple of senarios, should be very interesting.

Not that you have had any questions about plots lately but I ran across this and thought this was a good spot to post it. It is a large list of plots and subtle twists on each.

Re: The Return of the World within EPSC's Mind (D&D Campaign Discussion/Suggestions Centre)

I saw those yesterday. They might come in handy. As of now, the party has gone to confront the sister of the dragon they killed in the 2nd session. I'm tempted to have her run off before defeat just to taunt them. I figure a night of wandering around a maze-like cavern willl do for making the session long enough.

i've also decided the deathtouched warlock is the descendent of a vampiric dragon and the only other 'living' descendent (either a vampiric red dragon or also a deathtouched red dragon) is visiting him in his dreams and trying to get him to come over to the dark side.

Not only would it make the session long enough, but its also wickedly funny watching the players squirm in pain as they cant figure out a way of an annoying long maze

Re: The Return of the World within EPSC's Mind (D&D Campaign Discussion/Suggestions Centre)

All right, my game is actually back on track (took a break). I need a call on something. Let's say a human has their bones, eyes and tongue removed (so they are kinda like living dolls) and magic is used to move them around like puppets... would they still be humanoid or construct?

The idea came from this comic (http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?location=20041128) and the next one or so after that.  I'm basically going to take the character Kharla (shall be refered to as Daeva Keres) and make her a crazed necromancer that loves to make living dolls and either bone constructs or skeletal undead from her victims.

If you may recall, the group was looking for a noble's son. Well he and some others were taken to Daeva.  She is a fanatical follower of Shelondra and the Undead Dragons.  They will find some victims as living dolls, others have been turned to actual dolls (stone/porcelin via the flesh-to-stone spell) and others awaiting their fates.  Some have been set aside from sacrifice and a like.  My only problem is to make the living dolls humanoid since they are alive or constructs since they are dolls controlled by magic.

Construct. Itd be much like a golem, they no longer have their own will to think, and I believe it is the freedom to choose and live on your own that decides whether you are living or dead. This character would not act, react or even survive without the magic used.

I guess the only acception would be if the magic used would be magic that they themselves cast.

My concern lies in the Fort save. I'd think they'd have one on the basis of still being alive.

Cool [H] Re: The Return of the World within EPSC's Mind (D&D Campaign Discussion/Suggestions Centre)

Working on said Living Dolls and their 'Advanced' form, the Marionette.

    Marionette (Stone golem)

    Med Construct
    D10+20
    Attacks: Claw, Slam, bite
Abilities: Blindsense, Construct Traits, immunity to magic, Damage Reduction/10, Flight (Average)
What appears to be a life-sized porcelin doll, seems lifeless until you near it. Glass eyes open and stare into nothingness as the creature approaches you, like a puppet on invisable strings. Dressed in normal clothes or armor, the Marionette is a living doll that has been turned to stone by the Flesh-to-Stone spell and its limbs re-fitted for movement.

    Living Doll (Specialized Flesh Golem)
    Med Specialized Construct
    D10+20
    Attacks: Claw, Slam, Bite
Abilities: Blindsense, construct traits, immunity to magic, Damage Reduction/5, Flight (Average), Constitution Score (Living Creature)
At first glance, this person seems to be in a trance. As you approach, they moan and rise up like puppet on a string. They cannot seem to open their mouth, permanently smiling at you. Warm to the touch, the Living Doll was once a humanoid, now rendered paralyzed and controlled by dark magic.

I haven't worked on their stats and saves yet.  Also thinking they might be imbued with powers. Any suggestions?

They sound pretty cool and spooky, I wouldn't like to come up against them, though the Marionette being made of porcelin wouldn't survive long against over active 5 year olds.

It's actually like a normal stone golem in toughness, only medium sized and it looks like it's porcelin.
