    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Well I'll bet that if is ensured a World Series win many teams would change their names to have the word Sox in it. Smile [:)]

I hope that the Cubs are next because it would eliminate so much plublicity about how they have not won in so long.

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

The Cubs would be next up if you look at the trend. But looking at that team, theyve got too many issues to address. I will expect an even worse season for the Cubs coming up than this season...

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

There are a lot more teams than when I left North America. Some I don't even recognise. We don't hear much about baseball over here except very occassionally if there's a local team doing something interesting. Its all cricket in varying forms.

    From where are the Athletics?

Oakland, CA. We call 'em the A's.

My mom's from Boston and my dad went to MIT, so I was raised a Red Sox fan. I really don't care much for watching baseball though.

I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Wow Blue Jays winning the east, Id definitely subscribe to that. Big Smile [:D]

Also in fantasy baseball--looks like Noah Lowry is on the DL

And please excuse Matt there in fantasy baseball (Grand Pequots, now called Grannie Panties as hes very upset at his team).  He holds nothing back in language and is emotional, so brace yourself.  But hes a good guy Wink [;)]

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

A good guy huh. Well I was not so sure. It seemed like for no reason he was making alot of racial and gender slurs that I am not comfortable with. Not really into the hating or disrespecting a group of people based on race or gender. Every person is unique. WhateverHuh? [:^)]

Yeah, My pitchers are going to make the all injured team. I played Fantasy Basketball one time and it has the same format for head to head. A weeks worth of individual stats and then you win or lose based on which team has better stats at the end. You can be sailing along looking like you are cleaning up, then next instant you are losing your ass. Oh, well just going to try to have fun with it anyway.
Baseball seems like it will be alot more difficult because an individual can have a slump then be great the next week or someone you are areally counting on sits out a game for a rest. You would almost have to live with each player to know if and when they will be playing.

Also how long before there are no undefeated teams?   I am guessing that they dont last until the middle of next week.

Edit: Well crap it! So much for me opening my big mouth. Now both undefeated teams have lost.

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Alright, I sent you a pm.  Cool?  Smile [:)]

Oh yeah its definitely tough and sometimes very frustrating.  At least thats what Ive felt like week 1.  I too was doing so well and now Im just trying to scrape together whatever stats I can...and its very easy to jump bandwagons, youre right.  Ive basically created a hodgepodge of a team of stop gap players, waiver wire hopefuls and some guys who are proven to be better of those I dumped...yeah ok I have no idea what Im doing.

Haha, right MIL and DET were doing so well but they didnt look too good today, MIL looked awful today.  But I was happy for them

Weeeeee! in 1st place. Not blowing anyone away just consistant winning weeks.

Though I think my team is an infirmary for pitchers. My DL is going to be full all year.

Hey Tybs, how many times you going to add then drop the X man?

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Yeah I knocked down the goliath TDuck this past week.  Now my team has gone into a major slump (at least for 1 day) against Kevin and the nightcrew maniacs.  (Batting .051 the first day Surprise [:O] ).  So that catapults you into first place, where you are the only team to have won all 4 weeks.  Wow, and I thought your team would be mid pack!  Well done so far Big Smile [:D]

My pitchers are also feeling quite ill it seems.  My best 2 pitchers are on the DL (Harden and CC).

As for Xavier, I like having a bench for IF and OF, but everytime I pick up Nady, someone else better appears on the wire (First it was someone like Hanley Ramirez, and recently it was Brad Hawpe).  It seems to be Nady is probably the 3rd best guy always on the wire. Big Smile [:D]

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Oh yeah thanks for nocking the Trotmen out of first for me. Actually I think that the first week where he won like 13 to 1 was the reason he stayed in first for so long. I am not predicting that I will finish this season in first as I have only played a few of the teams and for the most part those have been in the lower half of the standings.

I know what you mean about guys on the waiver wire. They seem so great but I can not pull the trigger because it seems as soon as you pick up the new hot player he slumps and the guy you dropped takes off. I think I wll make a few more moves as necessary but mostly just stay the course.

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Haha well I think they are dwelling at the bottom of the standings because you beat up on them Big Smile [:D]

Well Evan (owner of the Dolphin Catapults) REALLY wants Reyes off your team.  He seems to be willing to make any trade for him.  Its your call, hes a Mets fan, but I think Reyes is a multi-stat threat

    Re: Baseball Rant thread

Well we did the deal. I am going to miss the SB but other than that not to much. Plus I got a pitcher and another SS. Of course Reyes could take off and be a world beater for the rest of the season and the guys I got could go on the DL. Smile [:)]
