    I could do backgrounds for the figth scenes...but we need to finish up a bit of the story first.

    we also need a theme.  we've established all sorts of characters, and I'd be willing to help work on sprite conversion, but i'd need some direction

    ...unless you want me to kinda go off on my own and hope my stuff fits with the general plan...

    Cool! So we got two spriters(me and Tiamat), and a backround guy so far.
    Now we need a monster guy. Anyone want to draw those? I'll probably do a few of those also.

    @Akira: Yeah... I know we are going to be worried about the story first, but I'm just rounding together a basic staff of people to help.


    Oh yeah! And everyone that helps will get thier names in the credits and stuff!
    But your character won't say stuff like, "Aren't these cool sprites? I made 'em myself!" in the game. I hate it when people do that in other RPG Maker games....

    Just how are you expecting the monsters to be like ? 'cuz I think I may help you... or maybe not, if it's a very hard task, I dunno...

    Monsters should be more detailed than out of battle, and the should probably be hand drawn.

    I may be able to help with some of the monster design... been itching for a pet project now that schools done... if you want a sample of the work I do you can check out my portfolio section of the site... there isn't too much up there right now, but when I get my internet back up and running I'll be updating it

    (warning, portfolio pages are large pdfs, though the wallpaper is jpg)

    Wow! That's great! I just saw the wallpaper, but that was enough to see your skills. And what's more, that's exactly the style I was thinking would look good for monsters! ^^

    Wow, very nice!

    Some notes before engaging in monster art:

    1) The images aren't large. I believe they might average in the 150x150 range for a normal-sized monster, so expect to do a lot of resizing, we don't want itty bitty monsters nor normal monsters that take up the entire screen.

    2) I believe we're still using RM2K3 (is that right?) so the monsters should be facing the right-side of the screen (for the side-view RPG battles). Regular monsters may engage in back attacks, which flips their sprite. Normal monsters should be a mirror image, but bosses or very large monsters can have non-symatry bodies.

    I think that's about it.

    I should be able to start drawing them up this Saturday (I'm in the middle of moving right now, and all my drawing supplies are currently at my new apartment. I usually work on 9x12 paper, but it's much easier to scale art down than up and retain quality. As for monster designs, what types are you looking for? I can just go from the top of my head and randomly think them up if there were no set ideas... also, I was pondering cutscenes on a whim, I'm an animator and could possibly make a few short ones up (short being around 3-5 seconds, I do traditional animation with paper, anything more with a full time job would be semi-overwhelming) 

    I'll probably have full internet connection by next week as well... again because of the move.

    Okay if you're gonna be making monsters, then we should probably get some of the boss characters over with(we still need more boss characters too)

    What do all the bad guy characters want to look like?
