    Anyone know where...

I can find a store/catalogue which sells replicas of the elven swords used in the Lord of the Rings movies? The long-hilted scmitar type blade, the one all the elven soldiers had. Friend told me he saw a store/catalogue where they were being sold but he doesnt remember where... help would be much appreciated...

Sorry, the image button right now uses local paths, I'm going to fix it as soon as possible with an image upload tool, each member will have a certain amount of file space or something, but my pc at home has been working for the past 3 days processing the old posts database so haven't been able to add any new features...

    RE: Anyone know where...

Sadly, they dont carry the lil piece archer is actually looking for. And i know for a fact arwen`s sword wouldnt look as good in his hands

At la pulga.. where. There they mostly have the catalog basic sets, and the ones they can get their hands on. Best buy you could get there are the chinese/japanese semi-imported goods. Just dont tell mr. law.

On the other side, you have the huge monster of Valle Oriente. Which yes, has a nice rack of anything you can name, and which brings something you really really want. And its a bit cheaper than most places, cuz the guy actually brings it direct from spain. Still, it means youre shelling out 500 bucks for a sword. or 400 for that nice white and blue half side shield, around 20 bucks for the knives, 80 bucks for the guns or old ass but higly cool croosbows. Which is kinda strongly priced, when you consider you could get them for half the price in the US. Being on Mty, that shouldnt be a problem but they do call it comodity buying for a reason.

Speaking of elven swords Archer, check the elven set swords for the Salvatorre series of Drizzt. Bring the bling bling home today

    Mike

    RE: Anyone know where...

yeah i was told that at a store at Mcallen they had very nice stuff, problem is they enver knew exactly where i could find the store, and its not like my dad agrees much on letting me buy something like it.. actually he just agreed on letting me buy myself a bow too bad i still dont put the money togheter to buy it :S

also i heard from this weapon crafter guy.. hes supposed to have his workplace and make some very nice sword.. i have a couple designs id like to get done.. but i guess i should first see some of this guy's work.. suposedly its kind of cheap, so i might try it...

    RE: Anyone know where...

    Thats sounds nice.

I mean. A done to your needs swords is better than finding a pretty cool one. Tell us if you buy anything from him to check if its well done. In the meanwhile, i think id be better off buying the small things from Valle oriente. Some guns, maybe a crossbow or a dagger may be nice. Next week im gonna buy a small bundle of things and im thinking im better off with the small things, than buying.. say.. one of those 500 bucks swords.. Id rather use those 500 bucks to buy either the LOTR legolas battle knives set or the Salvatorre series, drow swords.

Its a bargain if you put it against the costs down here.

Archer and I where thinking on buyings us some bows and start fletchering up the sky. But after serious thought and talking to a friend who has owned bows for a long time i brought myself to the fact that.. Its a pain in the ass. Between the permits and the costs, and knowing how i will rarely go to the clubs and all its just not worth it. And hell, with that money i can buy a hell lot more of small satisfying things to fill my evenings on a daily basis. Books, dvds, dunno.. a million other things.

And that? Well. That just sounds simply better.

That is satisfaction economics at their best kids.

    Mike

    RE: Anyone know where...

lol mike, yeah buying arrows can be expensive, i saw some pretty cool down at "Academy" but 3 dollars per arrow... ouch... still thats one of the weapons i like best, lol so one day ill own one!! onless i make myself one *wonders* next years when i take wood at school i might.. *grin*

but i want a composite... but its true, it would be hard for me to find a place where to practice with it, unless i go up the mountains next to my neighborhood.. but im Sure ill lose all my arrows...

    RE: Anyone know where...

    Hu.ry.a.

I am bewildered i must say.

Taking wood on school sounds... wrong. Taking Carpentry class may be what  you where lookin for. Cuz otherwise, wow. I mean.. really. wow.

You do know you need a permit to own a bow right? You know. Like .. beeing a weapon of non mass destrcution and all. Which means permits. Which means coppers. Which means the great mexican bureaucracy at work.

Which means frickin headaches and *******s asking for money.

I think ill let the Leland-style out of my resumé.

Speaking of adventure: You all need to go and see Big Fish. NOW. You will not regret it. I promise.

    Regards,

    Mike

    RE: Anyone know where...

no, lol i am taking wood, suposedly, class name is Design workshop 2, furniture i think, but what i heard is that we gonna work with wood, that or bamboo, like students of that class this semester. *ish an industrial design student* so yeah i take very nice and cool topics

and now, i didnt know i needed a permit to own bow and arrows.. but anyways, bow and arrows (non metal arrowheads) are not that dangerous. if i bought those nice shinny purdifully designed 4 sided blade arrows, now That would be a killing... but i dont think ill get em, lol

and.. aaarrrggg i WAS gonna go see that movie today *mutters something quietly to herself* but yeah.. thanks to my brother i couldnt get from school to valle oriente with enought time to buy the tickets... dang i soooo want to see that movie... they should put it in more hours, i cant seem to be able to get there on time...

    RE: Anyone know where...

Well, you can always go to Cinepolis Garza Sada. Wherever you go, just go see it soon. It will rock your socks.

It rocks so much im seeing it again this weekend.

Going back to the bow and arrows, yeah. I know i can have a gun with rubber bullets and not shoot people dead in the face. But alas, the justice system adjudicates demented behavior to the society that is entitled to police by thinking: They have no control over themselves! Who are they to judge if they are able to have something and not use it for the most deadly and illegal ends! They are like monkeys ready to burst into a demential cacophony of sin  and anarchy at every turn! *shoots a monkey*

    Ergo, The_sucking.

You need a permit to not only use them and carry them, but to only own them even if you have them against a wall. Sucks? yes. But its how it works. And yes. The razor tipped four ridge arrows do look frickin cool. Deadly. and cool.

    Regards,

    Mike

    RE: Anyone know where...

yeppers, lol your absolutely right on that...

The world is a vampire *grin*

but seriously.. who gets a permit just to have it attached to the wall? some of us have sword at home and dont have any kind of permit.. not even those nice shinnyRambo knifes we get to use on the wilderness *double grins*

    RE: Anyone know where...

Do you have swords? What kind of swords?

    I like Swords.

    And knives.

Thinking about it, that doesnt sound very natural.

    Mike
