Fireball is one of the cornerstone spells of mages. Its a giant ray of fire that upon impact does damage to any creature within the radius of the blast, friend or foe, it effects everyone in the area in question. This spell is handy against small creatures to deal them crushing blows, or even against tough creatures who cant avoid getting hit by a large amount of damage. In DCI, Arudin finally put this spell into his book and cast it in much needed time when he escaped the island where he was being held captive.
