Id be willing to wager that jwm has stumped us all.  But Ill wait another day or so for more answers to trickle in

Well he has me stumped though that isn't hard considering my knowledge of monsters extends to the mundane creatures like Orcs and Goblins and to the mythical creatures like Dragons and Basilisks.

Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

Well youve just started your first DnD campaign (though Ive never really played at all) and youve never really played DnD computer games, so its understandable that your knowledge is limited.

But here, in my case, with a distinct interest in monsters and a huge fan of rpg games, I too am stumped.

I know a lot about D&D and it's monsters, but I don't presume to know it all. There are many worlds of the D&D universe that I have no experience with as there are also many books with tons and tons of monsters within them in 2nd edition that I haven't even heard of. I too am stumped by this obscure creatue of Jwms'.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?

I guess jwm will probably have to tell us what it is and then post a different creature of sorts....unless more guesses come in.  I know Kayless knows monsters and likewise EPS and Undertow, and none of them have posted yet, so who knows?  Maybe they know it.

Well I am willing to wait for some other answers but I will post another pic of another monster and still keep the first one open for answers.

Wow Myconid is a close guess. Not right but close. I guess I won't use the Myconid pic in the fuiture though.

Well not really Fungus. Lets put some scale to the creature. The creature pictured is about a meter high.

RE: How well do you know your creatures?

Well unless the books you have are from printed in the late 70's or early 80's you probably won't find them. The manual that they are from is the Fiend Folio. Artist is Erol Otus. That should be enough to get you on the right track.

I did not post them just to stump you guys I just used creatures that I was a little bit familiar with.

Use the books? Hmmm I never thought of that. Alas I don't have the fiend folio.
