Throwing in my two cents (again), live action movies would be a mistake.  It just wouldn't be the same.  Its alot of the same problem people have with, say, the Lord of the Rings movies.

Anime has a similar problem, the only thing being the voice acting.  I don't WANT to know what these guys sound like.  I'd much rather have it in my head than dictated to me on screen.

Flash cartoons... maybe.  I don't see the need, since you'd have to click to progress the words on the screen, so it wouldn't be much better than just clicking through the comic.

 

 

...unless someone wanted to do a flash animation of Damiens last moments (but only because i like exploding things.)

EGS movie is a bad idea.

hmm... i think that EGS would make a good anime movie... BUT only if Dan made the voice choices.

well it would be sorta interesting to see what Dan thinks they sound like.

Well, it really depends on who's directing, producing, acting, etc. A movie adaptation could end up being really good or really horrible. I mean, personnally, I think X-Men and Spiderman turned out well (although I haven't seen Spiderman 2 yet) but there are also some really bad comic-based movies (apparently Daredevil and Scooby-Doo weren't very good, although I haven't seen either).

Also, I liked the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies, and yeah, I did read them way back when, "before it was cool". In those books, we didn't even know what the characters looked like, let alone how they talked or moved. And yet I think the movies ended up being really good, especially Return of the King, which was a great way to finish a trilogy. Haven't seen Azkaban yet tho.

Anyways, like I said, it really depends on who works on it. Any concept has potential, it's just how well it's executed that matters.

there are a lot of great voice actors out there. so i say el goonish shive should be first done as an anime then in about 10 to 20 years when the tech catches up with the story as a live action film. maybe then we might have actors that can do justice to it.

i don't wanna know what the charachters sound like!
