You know that there's only a very very small fraction of the population that knows that story about Hansje Blinkers and his finger in the Dijk. If it's 10 percent, it's a lot. I suspect American's making it up.
And why do Dutch people always talk with a German accent in every film. (Like Goldmember.) Germans don't understand a word we say, while British should understand a couple of words!

Because no one can tell the difference between Dutch and German accents except Dutchmen and Germans .

Of course we are making it up. That is what we do best. Make up stories about countries that we know very little about and then propigate it until it is believed to be true.

When I think of Holland, I think of rain, oil paintings, calm landscapes, and DJ Tiesto

When I think of Holland I think of different things, the liberalism (legalised brothals, cannabis) the old stereotypical stuff (dykes, windmills, tulips, clogs), speed cameras, chocolate sprinkles and that if the polar caps melt and the dykes fail the country would disappear and the Dutch would be forced to move to either Belgium or Germany...

Of course I'm sure a lot of that is stereotypical nonsense and hearsay.

Bah, we could take Germany with our hands tied behind our backs.
But I see there are lots of 'positive' associations with our country, although Vkm is probably closest (although there's a drug dispute going on at this moment.) I have to say there are a couple of picturesc scenes here in holland, but most are extinct by industry.

They're not thinking of banning cannabis are you? They'll upset so many British students!

    RE: Games

At the moment, we here in Holland have weapons grade cannabis. The amount of THC in it is sky high. This is probably because it's semilegal to use it here, so consumers get picky, they want to have the best for what they buy.
So cannabis farmers have made a very good stock.

The government wants to see if the effect of this high level of THC isn't damaging, or at least if it's not just as damaging as certain harddrugs (specificly XTC, because that's one of the main problems right now.) If so, they will probably try to regulate it.

Research proves time and again that we have less cannabis 'addicts' and less youths falling into the use of harddrugs. The same goes for prostitution, by making it a legal bussiness, the state not only get's tax revenue, but there's also the possibility of eliminating Woman-trafficing and the existence of Heroine-prostitutes. Only some parties, even in Holland, keep sticking to their (often Christian) roots and ignore all this in light of the often heard. "God does not want us to..." speech.

*Blushes heavily, guy's you know I'm shy.*

Although I thank you for your compliment, it's probably better I do not, as Stilgar still finds it disturbing that I chuckle when I nuke entire civilizations into oblivion with C&C:Zero Hour.

    RE: Games

No that's understandable. While I always refrained from nuking cities in Civ where possible, when one particular enemy got really on my nerves it was fun crushing them beneath a mushroom cloud

Having never played C&C is there any reprecussions from your nukeing you neighbor or are you the only superpower?
