I'm all for another Jurassic Park movie as long as they can come up with something original.  I mean, honestly, how many times can a bunch of idiots get stuck on an island with dinosaurs?

If they're going to make a humans vs dinosaurs movie they should try something completely new.  Maybe like those Dino Crisis video games.

I agree with Collide,if they make a part 4 they should kind of make it like Aliens were trained soldiers are fightning the dinos.

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

But... but... Jurassic park... ... why would there possibly be trained soldiers fighting the dinosaurs?

the option of a 4th jarassic to me is still a bad idea, the trilogy is enough to make u think of what will be in the 4th.

the plot has been the same throughout the trilogy and has therefore become boring and old, if they were to come up with a 4th film to the trilogy then it would have to make a big impact and entice it's viewers from start to finish.

most people have said the trilogy has become boring and that there is no point in making another one, however, i would think the idea of a 4th film is a good idea but pointless.

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

Trained soldiers just isn't the same. The whole point of the horror of the movie is that these people are defenseless. They don't know what they're doing, they have no combat experience, and now they're trapped in a hellious jungle from which there may be no escape.

Come, see Neko Girl Jessica's Place, a haven for RPers everywhere!

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

...Except for the fact that basically, by the third movie, pretty much every person with a TV or a newspaper subscription, or even hearing it from word of mouth, knows about the dinos and the Cinqo Muertes. Knowing that the area is known to have tropical storms, and crashlanding on said islands is near the equivalent of a death sentence, who would knowingly plot a course to go over or even near said islands? And trained soldiers? we saw how much good they were in #2. I definitely wanna see more raptors, though. Kinda scary, how smart they have 'em getting. What about this: Dinos loose on the mainland, without the knowledge of the world's governments. Say, in the amazon jungle. The start of the return to dinosaurs as the dominant species of the earth, putting true (well, except for the last part) the conversation in the first: "God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man creates dinosaurs, dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the earth."

And something that deals with the human-like intelligence of the raptors, of course. Can't leave out the raptors.

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

Unless they bring back InGen or some other whackball company, we'd have to go with the dinos in South America, which limits us to South America. Considering that both the Movie and books point out the ridiculous expenses InGen suffered in order to produce the creatures, and that they could only barely afford it by strippoing down as many risky investors as possible, the chances of that are nil. South America is known for it's jungles and rainforests though, so there really isn't a clash of interest anywhere here, just pointing that out.

While Raptors are justifiably represented as intelligent predators, the difference between them and, say, a leopard, aren't that fantastic. I'm little more than a layman, with borrowed experience through Chricton and the Discovery channel, I'd place a raptor's intelligence somewhere around that of a Labrador or Golden Retriever, intelligent for a member of the animal kingdom, but not on the same level as apes.

This coupled with their lack of opposable thumbs means that the chances of one understanding the very basics of our society very slim. To put it more bluntly, I doubt that if they could comprehend it they would care.

Your explanation leads me to reminisce about the Planet of the apes movies, specifically the one where the two Chimps are teleported to Earth and have to adapt to Human Civilization, but in all honesty, that movie belonged in the Congo Franchise about as much as a similar Dino themed one belongs in Jurassic Park.

S'not a bad idea, of course,  but does it really need to be JP?

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

The basic plot never changed in all three movies. The setting was fairly constant as well. The pattern of herbavore/TyranRex/Velociraptor has been constant, even though the original island couldn't have had raptors because only one was left alive at the end of #1. They can't milk it any more than they have.
Six inches of cute brooding war hero.

    I've seen JP 1 & 2, but not 3.

And honestly, I'd rather see JP do another movie than Star Wars. I despise Star Wars.

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

I virtually despise most straight to video movies. There are a select few I enjoy, but for the most part... they went straight to movie for a reason... they're crap.

    RE: Jurassic Park Trilogy

No one fear, for Corsair is here! I must be the biggest JP freak in the world. I actually just finished watching the trilogy last night. A lot of you are talking about trained soldiers, when they had trained people in all three movies (To some extent.) My favorite character would have to be a close tie between Muldoon and Malcolm. If you liked the movies I HIGHLY suggest reading the books... for they rule. I hope you will all be happy to hear that a 4th Jurassic Park is already being written and cast.

I personally don't think the forth one will match up to the earlier ones, but I'm still excited! I think a cool story line would be if a bunch of radicals who don't like the idea of dinosaurs went to the island to kill them. And do you know who I would love to hear from in the fourth movie? Biosyn. Doesn't sound familiar? Remember Donson from the first movie? The shady character who talkes to Nedry in the first one. He works for that company. IU think Biosyn would be a great direction to go for the fourth one.
