College is a major transition in life from high school. I felt
the exact same way you did at that time, so much uncertainty and
longing for the times I had hanging out with high school friends.
And then with a month left in high school, we realized, dang! We are really tired of eachother!
But that was just us I guess. In truth college was SO much better
than high school. Those 4 years were the best years of my life
and Id give up so much just to live it all over again. In fact I
wish I could have changed some things so that I could have enjoyed it
even more. But it sure felt wierd to go through the transition
from high school to college. The summer was probably among my
best, but the transition never really hit me until I actually had to
get ready to go on campus. The first month at college was really
a transition too but I got used to that But I didnt realize
how great the years were until now, now that I realized its all ended
and now Im in another transition into the working world, a much more
somber transition I must say.
Just like you, I just dont want to grow up just yet.
Ive tried to do what I could to sieze this summer but its been packed
with peaks and valleys and its been taking its toll on me a bit.
The peaks have definitely been worth it, its just been a little bumpy
on the way
My advice is to enjoy your last couple years at high school.
Junior year for me was meh but treasure it, enjoy time with friends.
Try not to lose contact with your best ones, like I did.
The SATs and ACTs were a real drag. I never put much stock in
standardized tests so I really didnt put much effort into taking it, Id
probably recommend you trying hard though.
If at first you dont succeed, dont try skydiving
