Without a hitch Yashwi ducked past the minotaur, and followed Kenna into the next room, his thoughts already drifting past the minotaur to allow for greater levels of thought on the situation at hand.  It wasn't simply the fact that he had seen such creatures before (several of them had been slaves of one of the households he had been on, not sure which one), just that he didn't actually consider such a minor being as a threat.  Still, he did acknowledge it's massive size and gave it space as it had passed, probably in some way showing some primitive statement about dominance.  Yeah, Yashwi laughed inwardly at such a notion of being subbordinate to the minotaur.

"What are we doing here, Kenna?"

Yashwi said rather loudly, hoping to somehow interupt someone long enough to create something good out of all of this chaos.  A good thing for him, and a good thing for his mistress.  Those were the things that mattered, not the pathetic state of the city, not much of anything else.  Even if they were useful for the time being..

Jager just nods.  "Heh.  It takes a minotaur to beat the right idea into our minds, doesn't it," Jager says, shaking his head.  "Yea, we'll be at that meeting.  As many of us as possible, at least.  Don't know if Zia will be able to make it.  We'll have to see how she does."  He takes a deep breath and sighs.  "Man, sometimes this is a tough jig..."

Rufus, being stubborn, has to atleast say something in his defense.  "Hey, all I did was misinterperet it.  It happens sometimes."

"He'll be there, too," Jager says.  "I must ask, though.  I know you've got the Fighters guild with ya, but what of the Mage and Merc guilds?"  It was about then tht Jager noticed the two mages in the back, Kenna and Yashwi.  "Hey, you two, in the back.  Are you guys from the Mages guild?  They didn't actually take the time to send Emmisaries, now did they?"

Besides the fact that the streets were still full of bustle, Favarin still got a majority of stares as he passed.  It was no matter though, the Fighter's Guild was in sight.

"Actually, no." Kenna said in polite, conversational tones quite different from the perpetually amused, exuberant chattering of her normal speech. Her body language changed too- before she had been slightly slouched and easygoing, now she stood straight and tall- or at least as tall she could, and bore herself proudly. There was a hint of noble bearing to her that had been absent before. "We just wanted to know if there is any way we could help. Not all the Mages are power-hungery egotists... I, for one, know that if we don't join we will die. The Guild won't listen to me... or anyone else talking sense for that matter... but, if there's anything I can do to help..."

Favarin stode upto the guild entrance and (provided no one stoped him) shooed the tent flap aside and entered. He looked around for the person who seemed to be of the highest rank, ignoring the familiar stares and gasps, and spoke to him/her, "My name is Favarin of the Kal'Tesh Northern clan, I wish to speak with your guild master concerning new events that have revealed themselves in the Wilder's Guild realting to the current golem situation. It has become more complicated." He stands respectfully looking into the man's (or woman's) eyes awaiting a response.

30 days has September, April, June, and November. All the rest like peanut butter; except grandma. She drives a Buick.

"No, I'm quite capable of dressing myself...where's my pants?"

Twain smiled and inclined his head in greeting to the newcomers and listened intently to what Kenna had to say. Once she had finished he turned back to Jager, “I have the Fighters and the Archers, I do not doubt the cooperation of the temples; the mages on the other hand have not been so forth coming… One, a Master Jordan, the Shadow Mage from Kellgorn has agreed to help; by his words his students and their students and so on shall disobey the council if necessary to aid us.” He smiles at Kenna. “I believe he isn’t alone and his actions may draw others within the guild to their senses; if a significant number join our cause the rest of the guild should follow to avoid internal conflict.” He sighs. “They have made to many enemies with their underhanded practices to risk being so fractured.”

 

Navrick flexes his gauntleted right hand and shakes the stiffness out before continuing; he hasn’t been out of his armor since waking this morning. “The mercenaries are another story, they are here to do a job and what that job is depends on who is paying them; my guess would be the town, a town which would have it in it’s best interests to have them cooperate with us.” He nods off in the direction of the Mercenary camp. “They will work with us simply because they will risk less and still get paid the same amount; we simply need to tell them that we are ready to start working together.”

"I'll go with you, if that's all right. I've been here a few days, and I'm sick and tired of feeling useless." She said with a small smile, extending her hand to shake. "My name is Kennawitt Dorana, call me Kenna. May I ask yours?"

Navrick made a short bow as he took her hand. “Sir Navrick Twain.” My lady.

"An honour to meet you, Sir Twain. The cat... who's somewhere around here, I saw her a minute ago... is my familiar, Ember. The drow is Yailan."

Yashwi merely stood there as the events unfolded before him, allowing him the time to consider his situation rather than to quickly answer, that and Kenna was sociable enough for the both of them - allowing him time to ponder his thoughts and give more eloquent answers for everyone else.

"I'm Yailan, and I am a Journeyman Mage, sent here to deal with the problems which have unfolded recently.  You appear to have some proficiency with dealing with the locals, so I wonder if maybe you could help me out.  I need to capture one of the golems for study, and the Master I spoke with said that it would be rather difficult for that to occur... do you think you could align the guilds enough so that they would help in such a capture.  The Mage's guild plans on doing something along those lines tonight, so we'd need to hurry..."

With that he pondered how the situation could turn out, and came to the conclusion that any way it did turn out, at least he had attempted to make easier the predicament he had found himself in.  Yashwi's eyes then turned toward the rest of the assemblage, the fighters, the people whom had been here, and took note of them, wondering deep inside how well they would be as allies in any upcoming struggle....

Kenna grinned wickedly, shifting back to her normal, carefree manner. "Me, I'm just her for kicks. I generally just go wherever I might find something interesting or exciting. This seemed to qualify. And as for my fellow Mages... *sigh* Well, Master Jordan is definately the one to talk to. Unfortunatly, the magical profession in general, and the ones here in particular, suffer from an excessive concentration of power-hungry idiots. Naturally, since Master Jordan is talking sense, no one will listen to him..."  At this point, what Yashwi had just said registered on her.

"Wait. What? I could've sworn you just said you wanted to capture a golem. But I also could have sworn you weren't stupid, and those two statements would seem to be mutually exclusive."

Twain nodded, “It is true there could be much to be learned from capturing a golem and I’m sure once we have gained a stronger hold we may seek to pursue that course but at the moment the most important goal is survival.” He looked out towards the tent flap where the late afternoon sun shown. “Come nightfall we will have a siege on our hands and we are not yet coordinated enough to handle the daunting task that is capturing one of these mechanical horrors; no this night we must concentrate on learning to work together.” His piercing blue eyes snap back to Yailan. “We will have our chance to study these creatures; our fight is long from over.” He says wearily with the tone of one who has seen countless battles and undoubtedly would see countless more.

"Which fight do you refer to? The golems or the Mages?" Kenna said sacastically with a crooked smile.
