    Re: alternate endings

Not really, He simply went about his business taking Sith artifacts for his own use, rebuilding the Sith empire and corrupting Jedi. Exar Kun's first apprentice, Ulic Qel-Dorma ended up forming an alliance with Mandalore and attacked Coruscant; this was really the closest thing to war to actually happen as a result of Kun but really the only way it's connected to Kun is because he allowed Ulic to do it, really Kun couldn't care less about war at that point in his life. His exact words where "Very well, Qel-Droma. Prove your manhood if you must. If you fail, I will go on without you." Ulic failed and was put on trial; Mandalore had spoken to Kun who agreed to go free his imprisoned apprentice.

Now this is a really cool scene.

Exar Kun just waltzes into the courtroom on Coruscant, uses an ancient Sith spell to paralyze pretty much everyone in the court so all they can do is watch. He brushes aside a Jedi that tries to stop him, kills the speaker at the podium in a grand display of his power, and Ulic's chains fall to the ground at a glance. At this point his former master comes in to stop him. He faces Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas and defeats him just as he did as an apprentice only this time he actually kills him. He then takes his former master's robe, brushes aside that same Jedi and leaves with Ulic. It's really great, the same Jedi who was an apprentice with him under Master Vodo keeps trying to kill him, to get Kun to face her in a fight and every time he just ignores her or says he has better things to do with his time which just gets her angrier and angrier. I'm pretty sure she eventually turns to the dark side because of it.

ah yes, that's more truthful facts about him... been a long time since I read about Exar Kun (if you don't count the small parts I heard in the Kotor games, long ago) good to freshen up the memory a bit

    Re: alternate endings

Well both of those are him, the bottom one is of him fighting his master as an apprentice; he had grown angry with Sylvar (one of Vodo's other apprentices, he had three. Sylvar is the one that keeps trying to fight him through out his career.) because she used her claws (she's a Cathar) in a duel with him. (which is where the scars on his cheek are from) He was about to attack in rage and Vodo made him drop his saber.

Vodo asks him if he thinks his anger makes him a better fighter, better than Vodo even. Crado (Vodo's third apprentice tosses him his light saber. Master and Apprentice duel then, light saber versus staff; Kun is unbalanced and knocked to his feet. His defeat is near but he spies his dropped light saber, using the force he pulls it to him and drives Vodo back by fighting with two light sabers; he broke Vodo's staff and Vodo uttered his famous line:

"Exar Kun, you are the most formidable student I have ever had... but I sense something missing in you. An empty place hidden even from yourself. A place which remains unseen because no light escapes from that region of your heart."

Later he built his double bladed light saber, not only was it the first of it's kind but the technology behind it was so innovative it couldn't be improved upon.

Yeah, but I knew that zero has seen the lower picture and what I said was easier than explaining it in full. Besides, it's more fun to confuse him...

    Re: alternate endings

The two bladed light sabres are fine (if slightly unwieldy) as is fighting with one sabre in each hand. Its when we have four bladed light sabres or four arms <cough General Grievous cough> that you just look silly. Windmill impersonations are not intimidating.

    Re: alternate endings

My Kotor character had two purple lightsabers. At first it was a double bladed one, but I switched to two to use up some of my crystals.
I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

    Re: alternate endings

if you go with something that occupies both hands, in kotor, dual-wield is somewhat better than dualbladed, due to the crystals... tho dualbladed sometimes deal more dmg, dualbladed can deal enough, but give more to stats, also it looks a bit more awsome ^^

I tended to be the 1-handed jedi tho, since if you put feats into 1handed and give your char high dexterity, he'll (or she'll) be an unbreakable wall, very good defense... if you take that, and add master speed and master valor, or perhaps master armor (or whatever it is called), maybe all of them together (I used to pick Force Immunity before force armor tho) you'll be an even greater wall, and due to Master Speed, you gain 2 more attacks/round = more dmg... it also grants you more def.

if you play as Jedi Guardian (or start as one in Kotor2) this is the way to go, but if you (in kotor 2) want to get the prestige classes Jedi Weaponmaster/Sith Marauder, then dual wield for maximum dmg and stats, put more in Str and Con then (con for implants that grants str)

something awsome that you got to try in kotor2 is to be a sentinel, then become Jedi Watchman/Sith Assassin, you'll love the stealth

    Re: alternate endings

speaking of Gen. Grev. why didn't he just use two twin bladded lightsabres to do the windmill impresion? it would have been more efective, that way obi-one might not of cut two of his hwnds off...

I personally can't see how that would be better, I think it'd be more clumsy and harder to handle with agility

    Re: alternate endings

Its preferable to wield one weapon well than four weapons poorly. Traditionally speaking, people wielding two weapons either used the equivalent of short swords (paired smaller weapons) or one long and one short (a sword and a parrying dagger). The two swords trick is very difficult and so not common. Since Drizzt, we've seen so many dual-wielders it is silly.

    Re: alternate endings

in most RPG's I've been dualwielding most of the times, due to never being able to decide which of the lovely 1H weapons to weild... but every now and then I decide to go 1-handed, put down some time planning and deciding and then make a powerchar... but as I said, I usually go dualwield, or 2-handed

    I guess I'm spellcaster / dualwielder by birth ^^

I simply like the finess and grace demanded to propperly dualwield
