    Anyone watch Heroes?

The two hour season premiere is starting tonight.  Been looking forward to it since I saw the first teaser trailers, and now I have to tape it - Dratted nightshift Angry

    What is Heroes about?

    Scratchit: But he's a cripple!
Blackadder: He's not a cripple, Mrs Scratchit. Occasionally saying "Phew! My leg hurts!" when he remembers to wouldn't fool Baldrick!

Bunch of ordinary people (mainly Americans, but from over the world) find out that they have special abilities, and have to save the world.  For example, a Japanese guy can teleport and move back in time, at least one guy can fly, and a teenage cheerleader can regenerate pretty much any wound - a preview I saw on youtube had her waking up on what appeared to be an autopsy table with her skin peeled back, folding it back where it's supposed to be and getting off the table a few seconds later with no physical damage.

It sounds interesting but it hasn't been shown over here yet.

    Re: Anyone watch Heroes?

Had another annoyance when I tried to watch it today - while it had taped, the video quality was so shockingly bad it was unwatchable.  The picture kept jumping up and down the screen, kind of how it sometimes does if the TV isn't tuned properly.  At least my older brother taped the second half of it, but since he's a 45 minute drive away (and I don't drive), I'll have to wait until our next visit. Could you ask him to mail the tape to you?

Nah.  He's been wanting to borrow a few DVDs off me for a couple weeks now.  I can wait, although I'd really prefer not to.  I did ask him to tape next weeks episode, since I'm on nightshift again.

Same here. I hope it actually does come out on DVD!!! Unfortunately, I missed the first two episodes. I still want to see them though. What chapter are you guys up to? I think you are ahead, we're up to 12 on wednesday.

I love it when I'm asked to play with fire.

Think we're around 15 or 16 in NZ.  I'll check tomorrow night, assuming I remember to look for the episode number.

    WOOOOOOOT! Dancing Banana

Here in the US, chapter 19 of Heroes aired last night, and was of course excellent.  Constructed of equal parts of 'awsome' and 'kick-ass', my wife and I were enthralled for the entire duration. (Her even more so than I.)  My favorite part? (and no I shall post no spoilers) But suffice to say, the Parkman character seems to have finally grown a spine! Yay!

    Re: Anyone watch Heroes?

over here in the UK we had the first couple of episodes (or as the show calls them: chapters) last week, we only get one a week so i've got to wait for a whole week inbetween chapters. *sigh* it's not fair

If you can tell me why it is or is not... I'll be impressed.
    You understood the question.

    Re: Anyone watch Heroes?

I've programmed my TV to record them for me. I will not miss any, despite being in a field!

You are having to wait just as long between chapters as we Americans did. And trust me it gets really nerve racking later when you have to wait a WHOLE week (sometimes more) before you find out what happens. But oh it is soooo good. Cant wait for season 2!
