I humbly suggest that you not overlook the El Goonish Shive forums when designing the world map. There are, after all, 20,554 total replies in there.

I think the EGS forums should be like a really big city, like FF7 Midgar... considering that not only does it have 20k+ replies, but also, no matter how late/early it is, there's almost always someone lurking around there...

Truth be told, I'm fairly adept at editing sprites... but I'm not that great at making original sprites.  I'd be happy to recolor any sprites someone gives me, but we need to find someone who can create new sprites...

 

...besides, i've never worked with RM2k3, so i don't really know what kind of positions you need sprites for anyway...

I can tell that the monsters in the game are gonna be top notch!

@Tiamat: I can pretty much do that(You might need to edit the sprite a little). My biggest flaw is coloring, so I'll leave that to you. Okay?

Who want to do character design? I need someone to draw pictures of the characters. I'll then try my best to convert them into sprites.

Here is what I want for my character.

1. What type of character you want:  Assassin
2. What skills you want: Poison darts, Cleave 
3. What weapons you want: Katana
4. Why you think you should be the type of character you said: Because I am dark, evil and creepy. 
5. If you can help at all with your character/the game: Since I know you in real life I don't need to put this.

We need a specific description of the main character. So let's make hi ma completely cliché guy. ^^
Name of anything that is done a lot with rpg main characters.

I'll start with spikey hair. You gotta have spikey hair. Wouldn't be an rpg is the main character didn't have spikey hair. ^^

If you're going for straight out RPG spoof, then there's the big sword, the magical bracelet, the memory loss, the adoption, the quirky comic relief animal, the big eyes, big shoes, big hair... ... ...

On the other hand, we could avoid general parody, and try for something else...

For instance, what if our main character was an arrogant twit whom makes progress through the game almost entirely through the help of his comrades, but takes credit for everything and is always passive-aggressively attacking his teamates to inflate his ego?

 

Or we could go for the standard odd-man-out normal, average guy catalyst to play off of all the wacky characters.

Can't we just do a fighting game? Ala mugen.
